"I'm sorry, but I can't accept this. you need to leave." Her mother said cold and kept glancing behind her to make sure no one was coming... Gina scoffed and squeezed the wedding invitation that she was holding in her hand... her heart felt like a spear was run through it. "Do you hate me that much? I'm your daughter for crying out loud! Why do you hate me so much... you never called or visited... you didn't care that I had to live with Dad! You never did care about me... you abandoned me... and I don't care about that; I just want you to come to my wedding, and you can't even do that for me!" Gina Burst out in anger... her lips trembling a little as tears threatened to fall from her eyes, and her mother didn't look fazed... she just wanted her daughter to leave... it made Gina want to yell out loud in anger because of how she was feeling... "Yes, I do hate you," her mother finally said, and she froze completely in her tracks... "What!" Gina muttered in a low voice, her heart dropping... her mother ran her hand through her hair and tugged on it a little... "I wanted to take you with me, but I couldn't because you reminded me so much of him. The way that you acted was like him, and I found myself hating you as I hated him. so I made the decision. If I left you behind, you would be fine with him. You are like him, so you should be okay with that, " her mother scoffed and shook her head...
"Why don't you want me to be happy for once in my life? Why do you show up now... I don't want to see you... I want to never see you again... I don't want to be at your wedding when he is there..." Gina stood there in absolute silence, her heart racing as she listened to her mother. She immediately turned away and started to walk towards her car because she couldn't bear to listen to any more words that her mother was going to say because if she did it was only going to break her heart... she got into her car and started her car engine. Her mother stood there watching her for a while before she finally turned and walked towards her house where her mother's daughter was waiting... she watched as her mother smiled lovingly at her and gave her a warm hug before they disappeared into her house... Gina let out a shaky breath as she turned her steering wheel...
But slammed her hand into it as she drove away, her lisp trembling... she stopped the car and couldn't drive any longer... Gina got out of her car and started to hyperventilate when she couldn't breathe. When their whole body trembled, tears escaped her eyes as she stood there... Gina didn't even notice the person that was walking towards her till she felt a warm arm on her shoulder... she slowly raised her head and was shocked by who she was... it was Juliet...
"Are you alright?" Juliet asked in a soft voice, her eyes filled with concern.... she had been on her way to her grandmother's house when she saw Gina standing by the side of the road... she didn't recognise her at first but as she inched closer she immediately recognised who it was...
Gina was about to lie to her that she was fine, but she couldn't. How could she when she knew that she was visibly a mess at that moment. she had left her car parked by the side of the road, and she had tears brimming in her eyes. She shook her head. She was far from alright.
Juliet's eyes scanned the area till they landed on a bench that was close by. She held Gina's hand and led her towards the bench, and Gina didn't try to stop her or anything... she simply took a seat and wiped away the stray tears that had escaped her eyes... she drew in a sharp breath and let out a deep one to calm herself, and Juliet said nothing and just watched Gina in silence. "What are you doing here?" Gina asked in a low voice when she had calmed down a bit. She turned to look at Juliet, the last person she was expecting to see. "My grandmother lives close by," Juliet answered. She, too, and been shocked to see Gina in the area. At first, she thought she had seen wrong, but when he moved closer and saw the state Gina was in, she had no choice but to offer a helping hand. A sad smile appeared on Gina's face, and her eyes started to brim with tears again. It made Gina think about how funny life was... she was in a really bad state, and the person who had seen her and asked if she was alright was the person who she had almost run over with her car.... she was full of surprises, she thought...
"My mother lives close by too... this is my first time visiting her in years," Gina said, her voice trembling a little. She knew it was better if she stopped talking about it because Juliet was the last person she wanted to tell her problems to, but she couldn't stop herself... the words escaped her lips on their own, and Juliet listened...
"But she asked me to leave," Gina added in a low voice, and her heart broke as those words left her mouth... she was trying hard to hold back her tears. But the more she spoke, the more the tears escaped from he eyes... she wiped the tears that had escaped her eyes and looked up, hoping they would no longer fall... "She wouldn't even come to my wedding... she must hate me so much... I should have been aware of that already, but maybe a part of me still tried to deny it. "...
"I'm sorry to hear that," Juliet said, unsure of what other comforting words could tell Gina, who was visibly a mess.... she could tell from Gina's voice that she was in pain, and whoever her mother was was the cause of this pain... she wasn't sure about the full story, so she could easily judge... was her mother a bad person... Juliet was curious to know but couldn't ask because she didn't want to be nosy and knew it wasn't any of her concern
