"Are you nervous?" Gina asked as they rode the elevator up to Alex's penthouse. She had a bottle of vintage wine in her right hand, which she had insisted on bringing while Charles held her left... he was silent the whole time till she asked him a question and yes, he was nervous but not as nervous as her... "I am," He said, and Gina nodded and smiled nervously at him. She had something to ask Juliet and wasn't sure what Juliet's answer was going to be, but she wanted to take her chances. The elevator stopped and opened when they arrived, and she had to take multiple deep breaths before they finally walked out and headed to their front door... Charles gave her hand a soft squeeze of reassurance and smiled warmly at her. "You will be fine," He whispered close to her heart, and Gina nodded. She was going to be fine; she just had to relax so she wouldn't mess up making Juliet her friend... She took a deep breath and gave her head a little shake. "Can I press the doorbell now?" Charles asked, and she nodded. Charles pressed the doorbell, and they waited for a few seconds before the door of the house was opened by Alex... "Hi," Alex said in a low voice...
"," Charles answered also in a low voice, and Alex nodded... Gina was standing next to him, their hands intertwined as she smiled nervously at Alex... Alex made way for them to enter his house, and they did... Juliet was standing a few feet away from Alex when they walked in, and Gina's eyes immediately lit up when she saw Juliet... she walked over to where Juliet was standing and gave her a warm hug, taking Juliet and everyone else in the room by surprise... Gina broke the hug and handed the bottle of wine in her hand to Juliet. "Thank you," Juliet said as she accepted the wine, her eyes travelling to Alex and then to Charles, who smiled warmly at and he returned the smile...
Charles followed Alex to the living room while Gina followed Juliet to the kitchen so she could place the bottle of wine down. "You didn't have to," Juliet said as she placed the bottle of wine down on the kitchen counter... she and Alex had been making dinner and were finally almost done when they heard the doorbell ring... the oven made a sound, and Juliet walked over to remove their dinner while gina stood behind her... "I had to, i didn't want to come empty-handed when you both are treating us to dinner, and it's also a small thank you gift for what you did for me yesterday... thank you, " Gina said, and Juliet stopped what she was doing and turned to look at Gina, who looked happy in contrast to the previous day. "Oh, you are welcome. My grandmother sends her regards and says you can come over anytime you want, " Juliet said, and Gina nodded...
When the two ladies left for the sitting room, Alex and Charles seemed to be on talking terms again... they were talking about something and laughing when they walked in and Juliet was happy that she had invited them both over for dinner, since Gina was going to be family to Alex now they all needed to be on good terms and forget what happened in the past...
They all proceeded to the dining room, and the dinner was a pleasant one; Charles told the story of how he met Gina and how he fell for her and Gina's face became completely flushed as he spoke.... Alex glanced at Juliet and smiled warmly at her...
"Would you like to come with me tomorrow... I am going to pick out a wedding dress but I don't have anyone to come with me, I would have asked Charles to but I Don't want him to see the wedding dress before the wedding" Gina asked the question that had been on her mind since after she talked with Juliet on the phone... they were done with dinner, and Alex and Charles were having a word in his study while both ladies stood at the balcony of the penthouse staring at the beautiful night view... it was the perfect time for gina to ask Juliet her question.... and her eyes became filled with anticipation as she waited for an answer...
Juliet opened her mouth to respond, but no words came out... it was the first time anyone had ever asked her that, and she wasn't sure exactly what to say... she felt bad for Gina that no one was going to come with her and felt a bit guilty for thinking of declining when she had a free day from work the next day... The look of anticipation in Gina's eyes made it even harder for her to refuse, and Juliet found herself nodded in agreement... Gina beamed and took Juliet's hand in hers, taking Juliet by surprise once again... it felt like they had become close in just a day, and it strangely didn't feel uncomfortable...
"What time tomorrow?" Juliet asked, and Gina went on to tell Juliet all the details of the place they were going to for the wedding dress... it was a place owned by a famous designer, vanve Delarusso, who majorly health with wedding dresses and only attended to customers on invitations to his place... "I met him when I was in college" Gina explained and Juliet listened, a lingering smile on her face as she listened to Gina's story on how she met Vance and how close they actually were... he had called her up immediately when he heard that she was getting married and had sent her an invitation to his place... It made Juliet curious about the wedding dress Vance Delarusso made, and it also made her wonder if she would ever get married...
Alex had referred to her as his fiance a few times, but most times, the situation had kind of warranted it... if she ever got married, she wanted him to be her groom... a warm smile appeared on her face when she imagined Alex in a tuxedo as she walked down the aisle... it made her heart warm... "So I will pick you up at twelve." Gina's words broke through Juliet's day, dreaming, and she nodded... "Okay," She said...
"This was great; we should do this again soon," Juliet said, Alex's hand wrapped around her waist as they walked the soon-to-be wedded couple to the door... "Yes, we should do this again," Charles replied, and Gina nodded. "Congratulations to the both of you," Alex said, and it meant a lot to the couple...
Juliet waved at them as they walked to the elevator, and Alex planted a soft kiss on her cheeks when they were gone... "Thank you," He said softly to her, and Juliet smiled Warmly at him... she was glad that the dinner had gone well and she had also gained a friend...
