Gina was speaking to one of her employees about a new collection of clothes that she wanted them to order when someone walked through the door and she immediately recognised who it was. She froze when Juliet's eyes scanned around till they landed on her. She had gone to Juliet's office to speak to her, but she had not met her there, and a bit of her had been sad and relieved at the same time, but now that Juliet had come to her boutique herself, she knew she couldn't avoid her anymore... "Welcome", one of the employees approached her, and Juliet turned to look at her. Gina dismissed the employee she was speaking with and walked to where Juliet was standing... "she is here to see me," Gina said to the employee who was speaking to Juliet, and she left, leaving the two women on their own to talk... Juliet and Gina didn't know where to start or what to say; they simply stared at each other till Juliet finally broke the silence between them. "I heard you came by my office" Gina nodded and smiled slightly at the woman who she had never spoken to but had tried to run over. She looked like a nice person, and it made her feel even more guilty about what she had done, but she remembered Charles and how he had so much faith in her. She wanted to be the best version of herself and no longer wanted to be a menace... she wanted to change into a better person...
"Yes, I wanted to speak to you." Gina responded, and Juliet nodded. "please come with me. Let's talk in my office," Gina said. Juliet was a little hesitant at first, but she nodded and followed Gina to her office... they both walked in silence, and Juliet couldn't help but appreciate how beautiful Gina was. She looked elegant with her wavy hair and beautiful features... even her clothes scream luxury...
Gina pushed open her office door and gestured for Juliet to take a seat on the couch while she sat opposite her. She was beyond nervous and didn't even know where to begin.
"would you like something to drink?" Gina asked, and Juliet shook her head. She wanted Gina to go straight to the point and wanted to know why Gina wanted to see her. She was curious to know how Gina and Alex knew each other, but instead of asking Gina, she asked something else.
"Why did you want to speak to me?" Juliet asked, she knew Alex would soon call her to ask if she was done with work. "I have something to tell you" Gina answered and swallowed. "I don't think Alex has told you about me, and I don't blame him. I wouldn't either," Gina said, and Juliet's heart dropped a bit; she fisted her hand beside her as she waited for Gina to continue what she had to say. "I was going to be engaged to Alex", Gina said, and Juliet's heart finally dropped. Was Gina the person Michelle wanted for Alex? Did she and Alex ever have a romantic relationship? Of course, they did; why then would they want to be engaged? Juliet swallowed as she let what Gina said to try to sink into her. She didn't want to be jealous but she couldn't help it. "Oh," she said in a low voice. "What happened then? Why didn't the both of us get engaged?" She added, unsure if she wanted to still know the reason.
"We were never in that kind of relationship in the first place, and he made it clear that he had someone else", Gina explained; she swallowed before she continued talking. "and I know I shouldn't, but I got really mad when he told me this. I did something I shouldn't have," She continued, and Juliet was there, sitting in silence.
"Why are you telling me all of this" Julie asked the question that had been on her mind since Gina started talking. "I need to, I have to," Gina answered, and this made Juliet only more confused than she already was. Maybe she should have told Alex first before coming here herself. From the way Gina was talking she could already deduce that whatever Gina was going to tell her wasn't something that she would like to hear... she wanted to leave and didn't want to hear any more at this point but her curiously got the better of her and she remained seated to hear what Gina wanted to say...
But nothing could have prepared her for what Juliet said next...
"I tried to run the both of you over with my car...I acted crazy. I don't know what came over me then" Gina said in a low voice...
"What!" Juliet exclaimed when Gina was done with what she was saying. She couldn't believe what she was hearing, and she needed a few seconds to process everything she had just heard... She ran her hand through her hair and tugged on it a little. "I'm sorry... I regret what I did every single day. Alex asked me not to approach you but I knew I had to." Gina said and felt like a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulder... Juliet stood up and picked up her bag, she didn't even know what to say to Gina and wanted to leave so she could think straight. Gina stood up also, her eyes more sincere than ever. "I need to go", Juliet said, and Gina didn't stop her. She watched in silence as Juliet walked out of her office, and then she face-palmed herself. She understood if Juliet couldn't forgive her. But she still felt guilty for what she had done. Gina walked to her table and picked up her phone. She called up Charles immediately. "I told her everything" " she said as soon as Charles answered the call...
Juliet walked out of Gina's boutique, her heart racing as she walked away. Her phone started to ring and she stopped in her tracks and took it out of her bag. It was Alex, and she couldn't even answer his call. She stood there staring at the caller ID till the call ended. Juliet stopped a taxi and when her phone rang once again she didn't answer it and placed it back in her bag. The taxi driver stared at her through his rearview mirror as he wondered why she wouldn't answer her phone that kept ringing in her bag, but it was none of his business so he could answer.
