Alex Graham walked to his office... the once sweet smile that had been on his face had completely disappeared and was now replaced by a deep frown. He was back to his life. "Sir!" Patrick stood up when he saw Alex approaching finally. Daniel had been waiting for over an hour, and Alex didn't pick up when he called again multiple times. He needed to fill Alex on Gina Dawson, his 'Maybe' Future wife... "Is he still waiting?" Alex said, and Patrick nodded. he had thought Daniel would leave after a while, but he kept waiting diligent in Alex office and even asked for some refreshments... "Wasn't he on an indefinite business trip? Why is he back without any word." Alex muttered under his breath as she pushed open the door to his office. Daniel was laughing at a video he was watching on his phone when his nephew walked into his office... "You are finally here... I thought you wouldn't show up, " Daniel said, and Alex smiled slightly at the older man... "I didn't know you returned," Alex said, and his uncle stood up and gave him a hug and patter his back... "I wanted to surpise you, but it seems my surpise isn't as fun as I had imagined." "How is James doing?" Alex said and sat opposite his uncle on the couch. "Pretty well, he will be done with high school next year. " James was his cousin who he rarely saw, but made sure to ask of occasionally... "I think you know the real reason why I'm here." Daniel sighed deeply and shook his head. "Did my mother call you?" Alex said, and his uncle nodded. He already had an inkling about it when Patrick told him his uncle was around... "I know you think she is meddling in your life, but I know she wants the best for you. she thinks I said something to turn the two of you against each other and wanted me to tell her what I said." A sad smile appeared on Daniel's face. Michelle had always hated him, and she hated the fact that Alex was closer to him than he would ever be with his own mother... she blamed him for it and always claimed he told Alex lies about her. Her controlling behaviour was what drove her son away and nothing else.. She made sure to blame Alex for most of her problems as he grew up, and he naturally avoided her so he wouldn't continue getting blamed. she turned her own child against herself... "Do you still blame her for what happened to your father?" Daniel said, and a deep frown settled on Alex face. of course, he blamed her. If it wasn't for her, his father would still be alive, and he would get to live his life how he wanted ... "Yes, I do... she caused his death, " Alex said firmly... any time he saw she reminded him of the worst time of his life... "She isn't at fault, Alex... it was already going to happen. You can't keep blaming her for such a misfortune... She was also hurt by it. " Daniel tried to convince Alex, but Alex scoffed and stood up... "She wasn't hurt by it... she got a lot of money out of his death and used every chance she gets to insult and compare me to him. Maybe she would be happier if I had died like him. " Daniel saw the pain in his nephew's eyes. A deep-rooted pain that had been caused by neglectful parents... One who had lived most of her life counting her sorrows and the other one who got blamed for it over and over again. Though they gave him everything he required in life, he forgot about what he needed the most. Love and attention... They pain they had caused him was deep rooted in his heart already, and it made Daniel's heart break. He hoped it wouldn't affect Alex relationship with his future wife... Dan knew how stubborn Alex was. He took after his mother in that aspect... "I met someone when I came here. she said her name was Gina Dawson. I think she came here to speak to you. you should ask Patrick about here, " Daniel said as he stood up, ready to go... "I have no idea who that is," Alex said, and daniel chuckled a bit. "I'm sure your mother knows who exactly she is." Alex shook his head and walked his uncle to the door... he followed his uncle out and saw Olivia and Patrick speaking about something, but the sight of both men interrupted their conversation... "You don't have to walk me all the way to the elevator. I can go myself," Daniel said and patted his nephew's shoulder. "I'm sure your father will be proud of you because of what you have done with the company. don't let Michelle worry you. If you want, I can take care of her for you. " Alex smiled at the man who always had his back no matter what... "You don't have to worry about that... send my regards to Joy and James," Alex said, and daniel nodded. "I will invite you to dinner one of these days, okay? take care of yourself. " Alex pressed the elevator button for his uncle and waited till Daniel was inside and watched it close before he turned and headed back to his office... He stopped at the secretary office where Patrick and Olivia was, and both of them immediately stood up. "I heard someone came looking for me... Gina Dawson. who is she?" Alex inquired... Patrick and Olivia exchanged looks, and Alex sighed... "My office Patrick," He said and walked away. Patrick followed after Alex, who was already putting on his jacket when he walked in... "Did my mother send her here?" Alex said, and Patrick nodded. "Yes, sir... she had an access card with her and it belongs to your mother, " Patrick informed... "You mother also arranged a blind date for the both of you, but I cancelled it." Alex stopped what he was doing and turned to look at Patrick. he picked up his car. . Key patted Patrick shoulder when he got to where he was standing... "Great job." Patrick sighed deeply when Alex walked out of his office. he knew exactly where Alex was headed. He was sure sooner of later that Michelle would find out about juliet, and he knew Alex was aware of that already... Did he have a plan?
