Gina came out of the taxi Charles had called for her... She slowly started to walk to the front of her boutique but stopped in her tracks... Her heart was still racing after hearing Charles confession... She didn't give him an answer and was too shocked to speak...Thankfully the taxi had arrived and she left... She still didn't know how to react to his words... it was a mix of confusion, excitement, anger... disappointment... just so many emotions plaguing her all at the same time...
She sighed deeply and ran her hand through her... she couldn't go back there again... she couldn't see him again.... Even though she felt the same way, she had to dimish the feeling before it grew... it was her sad reality that she had to deal with...
Gian continued walking and was about to head straight to her office as she she walked into her boutique, but a familiar figure was waiting for her...
"Gina!" She heard her name, and she turned to see Caroline staring at her with a bright smile on her face...
"Caroline!" Gina said, surprised to see caroline because she always called in advance before coming...
Caroline walked to where gina was standing and drew her into a warm hug, taking her by surpise... "it's been a while, dear.... I'm glad I met you today, " Caroline said, the brightest smile on her face... Gina nodded and smiled back at the woman who looked overly excited to see her... "How have you been?" Gina asked, and the smile on Caroline's face died down... "Can we talk in your office, I have something I would like to speak to you about" Caroline asked, it was now or never and she couldn't think of a more better time to make her move...
"Of course, Clara got her something to drink," Gina instructed and then led Caroline towards her office even though she really didn't feel like talking...
"What would you like to talk to me about?" Gina asked when they were finally in her office, both of them seated, and Clara had offered Caroline a glass of orange juice...
"I heard about what happened with Alex," Caroline started, and a frown immediately settled on Gina's face. Alex was the last person she wanted to talk about... "Oh," she responded, and Caroline nodded. "To be honest, I had an inkling that he would act that way. him and his mother haven't been on good terms for so long. She barely listens to him. I'm sorry i caused all this. " She continued, and Gina managed a smile at the older woman...
"It's fine," Gina said, unsure of what she was getting at...
"I should have introduced you to someone else... then you wouldn't have had to go through all of that. "
"Someone else," Gina repeated, and Caroline nodded. "Yes, and that someone else is my son," She said confidently... Gina almost scoffed when she heard Caroline... What the hell was wrong with this woman! was she some kind of object that they could pass around! she was a person with feelings, she didn't want to reduce her pride like she had done with Alex so he would notice her. Every single day, she regretted acting like a psychopath all because she was angry that he wouldn't notice her... she still felt sick to stomach anytime she remembered that she almost ran him and his girlfriend over...
Gina swallowed up her anger because she knew it did her more harm than good... "What about Michelle... I don't think she would like you having this type of conversation with me," Gina said, but Caroline looked completely not bothered by that...
"When last did you speak to her.?" She asked Gina, and Gina couldn't give her a response... it had been a while since she spoke or saw Michelle. Gina also hadn't bothered to reach out... Thankfully, her lies that Alex was on business trip spared her any pressure from her father...
"I don't think she wants to get involved with Alex and that girl anymore... Alex always does what he wants. who do you think she would support you or her son... Of course, her son. that leaves you, I guess you probably told your father about Alex..." Caroline continued with her manipulation... She didn't care if she caused a rift between Michelle and her potential daughter in law, it only ended up favouring her...
"Do you want your father to be disappointed?" Caroline added, and Gina scoffed... her anger slowly resurfacing... "My son may not be a Graham, but he is a good choice too, he is a better option for you than Alex... Me and you both know the reason you want to be with Alex... that is the only way your father would leave a big inheritance to you... My son is the sweetest person you will ever meet and he won't make your life hell like Alex would... I'm being considerate here"
"No one would want their son to marry someone Alex Graham rejected for a common girl... they would all think something is wrong with you... Fine you may find someone but what about Mr dawson, would he want an incompetent son in law..." Caroline's words pierced through Gina like a sword
Gina fisted her hand in anger... "Think about it and Gina. what will be for your own good... call me when you are ready to talk... I will arrange a blind date between you and my son and send you the address..." Caroline stood up, gave Gina one last long look before leaving....
Gina was Brimming with anger now... Her father had always hated the fact that she wasn't the heir he wanted... A son... Anna had failed to give him a child, and that contributed to his hatred for his wife...
She had to live her entire life seeking his acceptance and had been reduced to this... Someone who people saw as an object for their greed...
What about her feelings... did that not matter a bit...
