"They are really nice," Juliet said as she snuggled close to Alex later that night... they were very welcoming people and they didn't make her feel nervous... they made her feel comfortable with them and all the nervousness she had felt on her way there had slowly dissipated... like Alex had assured before they came. she really didn't have anything to worry about... they were a couple in love and it made her happy that they were still in love even after so many years... she wanted to see their son also... Alex started to trail meaning line on her arms... his eyes closed as he relished the moments he spent with her... "Can you live in a place like this?" He asked, and juliet tilted her head to look at him... his eyes fluttered open and met with her. she looked like she was contemplating his question. "What about you?" Shs asked, and Alex thought about it too... his uncle had decided to live here after he met Joy, and now that he met juliet, he understood why now... "it's peaceful here," he said and stopped trailing the meaningless lines down her arms.. "What if I bought a house like this in the countryside, we can go there sometimes when he needs a break?" He suggested, and a smile appeared on Juliet's face... she really didn't want to think about the future and simply wanted to enjoy the moment... "Maybe," She said and laid her head on his chest... Alex left the room soon after juliet fell asleep. His uncle was standing outside for some fresh air, and Alex knew exactly where he would be... "Is this still your favourite spot?" Alex said when he found Daniel and Daniel turned to look at him and smiled slightly... "Always would," He said, and Alex nodded... "What about juliet?" Daniel asked. "She is asleep," Alex responded, and Dan nodded... "She seems like a lovely girl, I don't get what your mother's problem is, but I give you both my blessing," Dan blurted out, and Alex shook his head... he would never understand that hatred between his uncle and mother... he was curious to know when exactly it started because for as long as he could remember, they both hated each other. It then brought Alex to the question about Glenda... was his uncle aware of it, was he still in the dark, Alex contemplated in his mind if he should ask his uncle about it, but in the end, he decided not to... he didn't want to worry his uncle and trouble him... he didn't want his uncle to be reminded of his brother who had passed away... when the time was right, then he would tell his uncle about everything he had found out... "How have you been doing lately," Dan asked, breaking through Alex train of thoughts... "Great... really great, " Alex responded, and Dan noticed the smile that appeared on Alex face... he knew exactly who got him smiling like that.... he was sure Alex was in love and completely smitten, and he was happy for him... maybe finally, he could move on with his life and let the past go... he wanted nothing but the best for Alex... "You should get some rest, it's pretty late," Alex said, and Dan nodded but stopped just before he walked past Alex... "I hope you are happy, Alex... I really do, " Dan said and patted Alex back... The next day, fast approached, and they all had breakfast together and conversed together... Joy and Daniel were fun people, and they made sure juliet and Alex enjoyed their stay at their house... "Do you plan on getting married soon?" Joy had asked when she and juliet were alone, and Juliet didn't know the answer to give... "I'm sorry for asking such a question, I was just curious," She said, and juliet had only smiled at her... marriage? Juliet hadn't really thought about that... she just loved being with Alex... "Have you met Michelle?" Joy proceeded with her questions, and the look on Juliet's face confirmed it... "I'm sure you and her didn't have the best of first impressions... I didn't with her too... she had a nasty temper you don't have to worry... she is like that with everyone, " Joy said, trying to lighten up the mood so juliet wouldn't feel bad... she and Michelle hadn't been on great terms since day one... she felt like Michelle hated her for no reason and joy and stayed away.... she didn't force any kind of friendship with Michelle, and she was glad she didn't... "How long have you and Daniel been together?" Juliet asked, trying to change the subject, and it worked... " Little over twenty years... it was love at first sight for me, " Joy said and went on to tell juliet all about how she met Daniel and when he asked her to move with him... it was dinner time before they realised it till one of the maids who worked at the manor came to inform them about it... "Oh, I got carried away, I rarely have people to take to here," Joy said, and juliet nodded... seeing a glint of sadness pass through joy eyes, even though it disappeared as soon as it came... Their dinner was a splendid one like the night before, and after talking over a bottle of wine, they all called it a night... Juliet laid on the bed wide awake, staring at the white ceiling of the guest room she was in with Alex... she turned to look at him and saw that he was fast asleep... she had decided not to think about it, but joy kept weighing on her mind... like her name. she looked like she was filled with so much joy, but someone looked just a little bit closer. One could sense the loneliness... but maybe she was just overthinking and reading a bit too much into things she tried to convince herself...
