"Good morning." Alex greeted the love of his life the next day after the wedding. Immediately, her eyes fluttered open. Juliet stretched, and a warm smile appeared on her face as she snuggled close to him. "What was it you gave them as a wedding gift... I wanted to ask you yesterday but couldn't because of the reception, " Juliet asked. After the wedding, they all had a small party at Charlie's bar and it was fun, Alex had given the couple an envelope as a wedding gift and Juliet had been curious to know what was inside, but had decided to ask when they got back home, but when they returned home they had been too tired and had just gone straight to bed. Juliet tilted her hand to look at him, and Alex planted a soft kiss on her forehead. "Let's just say something for their honeymoon," He replied and didn't add what his second gift entailed. He was planning on making a big investment in Charlie's company and thought it was the right time to give it to him. They would already be on their way to their honeymoon, and he hoped they had a great time. Now he just how to think of the perfect time to promise to the woman in his arms... she was slowly drifting off back to sleep even though she had a lot to do. She had to visit her grandmother because her father would be out in just a few weeks, and he was planning to visit his mother. She wanted to be there to make sure everything was going to be fine before she finally gave them the space they needed to reconcile. "Juliet," Alex called her name softly as he played with her hair. Juliet hummed in answer... her eyes fluttering open once again... "Don't you have to see your grandmother today, should I come with you?" Alex asked, and Juliet nodded, a warm smile appearing on her face once again as she got up from the bed. Thankfully, it was a Sunday, so Alex didn't have to go to work. They could spend the day together. Her grandmother kept asking of him, so it was for the best...
Alex got up from the bed also. "I should get breakfast ready," he said and gave Juliet a good morning kiss, which she immediately broke... "I haven't brushed my teeth yet," She said, and Alex planted another kiss on her lips. "We can continue this after then," He said and walked out of the room; Juliet walked to the door and watched him walk away. She bit her lips as she stared at him... which was soon replaced with a heart-melting smile
The smile on Juliet's face dwindled when her phone that was on the bed stand started to ring... she closed the room door and walked to the bed stand to pick up her phone, thinking it was Gina who was calling her, but it wasn't, it was an unknown number... Juliet stared at her phone in silence for a few seconds, trying to think about where she had seen the familiar number, but she couldn't quite place her hand on it... she slowly pressed the answer button and placed the phone close to her hear "Hello" Juliet said, and there was complete silence at the other end of the line. "Hello," She said again, her mind finally reverting to where she had seen the number, but she wasn't sure exactly if it was the same number because it had been well over a month... "Hello... who is this?" She said again, and before she could say another word, the call was disconnected... Juliet immediately checked her phone's call history back to a month to see if it was the same number, and she had been right. It was the same number. Could it be just a coincidence that the person made the same mistake twice about calling the wrong number? Or could the person not be calling the wrong number but her... she contemplated for a few seconds before she called the number back, and this time it was switched off... she tried to call once again, but the same thing happened...
Juliet dropped her phone by the bed stand and went into the bathroom, but as she stood under the shower, her mind couldn't help but wonder who it could be. Was it someone she knew? Maybe it was Michelle... No, it couldn't be... she stepped out of the shower, and when her phone rang again, Juliet immediately rushed to pick it up. "Hello!" she said and answered the call without checking the caller's ID. "Hi, good morning." She immediately recognised the voice and checked the caller ID to see that it was Gina... Juliet let out a deep breath. Maybe she was just overthinking things. She talked for a few minutes on the phone with Gina, who told her about where they were for their honeymoon and how grateful they were to Alex... "I will call you again soon, have a great time, send my greeting to Charles too," Juliet said before she ended the call... she sighed deeply and sat on the bed after the call... she looked up the unknown number and saved the number as "Unknown" so she would know if it was the same number if the person called her again.. she tried to number once again, and it was still switched off... she left the room when she was done and headed downstairs to the kitchen where Alex wad preparing breakfast for the both of them. He was dressed, too, ready for them to leave when they were done... "orange juice or coffee," he asked as he turned off the stove... "Coffee", Juliet answered as she took a seat, her mind trailing off as she contemplated telling Alex what had happened or not... Alex soon noticed that something seemed to be on her mind.
"Are you alright?" Alex asked as he placed Juliet's breakfast in front of her, and she smiled slightly at him. She opened her mouth to tell him about the unknown caller but decided not to. "I got a call from Gina this morning. They seemed to be having a lot of fun. She asked me to thank you, " Juliet said, and Alex nodded. He walked back to get his breakfast, and Juliet ran her hand through her hair. Maybe it was all just a mistake...
Alex sat beside her, and they ate in silence, the thought of the phone call travelling to the back of her mind...
