After looking around her house a little more, Juliet realised that nothing seemed to be missing. She kept the letter in her jacket pocket and didn't read anymore from it... she decided to wait till they got back to the apartment. Alex held her hand in support, and Juliet felt her eyes water up again, but she blinked back her tears and turned to look out the window... she was sad it took her so long to find her mother's letter... but it also warmed her heart to know that she left her such a letter. When they arrived, Alex gave her a warm hug before giving her some space he knew she needed...
Juliet sat on her bed for a few minutes before she finally opened the letter... juliet read through the letter silently she didn't cry or say a single word till she was done... she closed the letter when she was done and placed it back in its envelope neatly... it took her a while before the contents of the letter finally sunk in...
She stood up and started to pace around her room... how could her mother tell her a thing like this through a letter, what was she going to do with such information... she closed her eyes and face palmed herself... "I can't believe this" Juliet muttered

"You can complete your work there and make sure everything is done well I don't want any mistakes..." Alex said over the phone to Patrick...
"Have you found out who it was?" He asked but soon ended the call when he heard footsteps approaching...
"How are you feeling?" Alex asked Juliet when she finally came out of her room and found him sitting in the living room. Her eyes were red and swollen, and Alex could tell that she had been crying... he gestured for her to come to sit beside him, and Juliet did... she sat close to Alex, rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes... Juliet couldn't stop thinking about the letter... she felt like her energy had been drained from her and thankfully Alex didn't ask what was in it...
They stayed like that before Juliet's growling stomach finally broke the silence between them... "What do you want for lunch" Alex asked in a low voice and Juliet sighed deeply... "should we eat out" He added and she immediately shook her head... she didn't feel like going anywhere but instead she wanted to stay inside with him... "I can make us a quick lunch, but there aren't any groceries in the house" Juliet responded and raised her head from his shoulder to look at him...
"We should go grocery shopping soon" She and Alex almost told her that they didn't have to do that, he could simply instruct someone to go for them but he decided to just nod... "Yes we should... should we go now?" He asked "Okay" Juliet answered and Alex stood up... he stretched his hand out to her and she took it... they were both pillars of support to one another...
"What about there," Juliet said and pointed towards a grocery store that Alex had just driven by... Alex who had never had a reason to go grocery shopping except with her looked for a parking spot and parked his car... his attention on her... she looked better now, and he was glad, but a part of him was worried that about her.... she was someone who didn't like to speak about her feelings and does it almost randomly... she seemed to like keeping things to herself and in a way it reminded him of his self....
Surprisingly Juliet was the one who took his hand when they were out of the car and walking to the entrance of the place... she didn't care about the people around...
"I think we need some milk and...." Juliet started as they started to walk around and she picked out what they might need... Alex never stopped staring at her as they walked his green eyes filled with curiosity and concern... it was like she went back to a default mood and was in complete contrast of the Juliet who had been sad and upset a while ago... she was speaking and smiling like everything was alright...
"Alex!" Juliet called out to him for the second time when he didn't respond to her question... "Yes" he said and she squinted her eyes at him.... "What are you thinking so intently about I asked you if you wanted spaghetti for dinner it's past lunchtime already?" She asked...
"sure" Alex answered and she nodded and continued with her shopping... she kept speaking to him and asking him random questions which Alex kept answering... he sighed deeply when they arrived back at the apartment and she started cooking after they placed all the groceries away...
"is there something I could help you with" Alex asked and stood beside her... she looked completely immense in what she was doing and shook her head... "No it shouldn't take too long, it's the least I can do since you are letting me stay here"
"Juliet" He called her name softly and Juliet smiled at him to assure him that she was fine... Alex sighed and started to roll up his sleeves and didn't listen to her and instead he started to help and even after she kept telling him she didn't need his help he didn't listen...
"I know you are wondering if I'm fine..." She suddenly said when they were almost done... Alex's eyes were filled with worry now... "Well I'm not, but I've always had to deal with anything that came my way... I couldn't stop living I had to carry on.... that's what I'm trying to do right now" She continued and turned to look at him....
"I think with you by my side I will be fine"... Alex took her hand in his and intertwined their fingers... his heart was heavy for the both of them because he knew he wasn't any better than her but now that she said this to him, he wanted to be better for her and the both of them.....
He wanted to be happy with her for a long time... "I think so too ... I know so" He replied and hugged her... she was a soothing pill to him... and she felt at home...
