Chapter 134: Getting Married Again
It's been a month since Xavier was discharged from the hospital, and since all this time he has been on very good terms with Sarah and Richard. The first week after he was discharged from the hospital, Sarah spent the whole week at his house with Justin in order to keep an eye on him and also to be sure that he had recovered completely. It was during this period that she discovered that Xavier had another company aside from Quim Corporation that he had sold to her. Hearing this made her feel less guilty for everything she had done to him; if not, she was already feeling sorry for him and was even considering handing the company back to him, but Xavier had told her that it wasn't necessary and the company was doing much better with her as the CEO, so it would be better if she kept on managing it while he, on the other hand, concentrated on building up his new company.
When they announced their upcoming marriage which would be taking place very soon, it immediately became the top trending news in the whole New York City, some people were saying that the wedding was going to be successful while others were claiming that it wasn't going to be successful, that what happened during her wedding day with Charles is also the same thing that is going to happen, some went to the extent of posting videos in which they were advising Sarah not to get married to Xavier that he was just after her wealth, but despite all this their firm resolve to get married didn't quiver even a little bit, they were determined to get married and nothing was going to prevent them from doing that, and Sarah on the other hand knowing how rich Xavier was wasn't even affected by all the things been posted online, her life was hers to leave and whatever she decides to do with it is her personal decision not that of the people online.
In less than two weeks, Xavier had already rehabilitated completely and was already preparing for the wedding, which was programmed for the end of the month. During all this while Xavier was still working at the company as usual, only that he isn't always present like before because he has to take care of the charges of his new company and other things.
Just in the flash of an eye, the wedding day had already arrived, and it was also on a Sunday. Xavier was still sleeping peacefully when his phone suddenly started ringing, jolting him up from his deep sleep. Stretching out his hand, he took the phone, and since he was still sleepy, he didn't even look at the caller ID before picking up the call and placing it on his ear.
"Hello," he said with a sleepy tone.
"Good morning, babe, don't tell me you are still sleeping," Sarah's voice sounded through the phone.
"Yes, of course I'm still sleeping," Xavier said to her.
"What!!!" Have you forgotten what today is?" Sarah asked him through the phone.
"No, of course; today is our wedding day, right?" Xavier asked her.
"Yes, of course. I thought you had forgotten; if not, why will you be sleeping till this time?" Sarah asked him, and immediately Xavier furrowed his brows in surprise before lowering the phone to check what time it was, and to his greatest astonishment, it was still six AM.
"Come on, babe, it's still six AM, and the marriage is programmed for nine AM, so there's still enough time to prepare.". Xavier said to her.
"Okay, if you say so, no problem, but you better not be late; if not, I will simply cancel the wedding. Me, I have been preparing since five AM," Sarah said to him, and with that, Xavier smiled at her.
"Don't worry, darling, I won't be late; just take your time and make yourself beautiful for me," Xavier said to her.
"I will, baby; you can count on me for that. I have to hang up now; see you at the church," Xavier said to her.
"See you too, babe," Xavier said to her before hanging up. Once he hung up, he smiled at himself, and at the same time the sleep in his eyes suddenly disappeared. The only thing he could think about was how he was going to profess his love to Sarah before everyone at the church. It's true that he has done that before, but the only difference is that the first time it wasn't sincere; the reason why he married her the first time was so that she could bear him a child so that he could inherit his father's properties. But this time around, it's going to be very sincere, and everything he's going to say to her is going to be out of love, not out of pretense.
Around eight PM, he had already finished getting himself prepared for the wedding; he was putting on a white suit accompanied by a white Derby shoe.
Coming out to the sitting room, he saw Ben sitting on one of the sofas, looking at him in amazement. He too was putting on a white suit accompanied by a white shoe. He was Xavier's best man, and that was what Xavier had asked him to wear.
"Wow, boss, the suit really looks good on you," Ben said to him.
"Thanks, Ben, can we start going? I don't want this wedding to be cancelled because I came late," Xavier said to Ben, who smiled at him.
"Yes, of course, boss, we can start going," Ben said to Xavier, who nodded in reply before heading towards the exit with him.
In less than thirty minutes, they were already at the church, but on getting there, they were surprised at the number of reporters present to capture the whole event, and all thanks to the security guards, they were able to get inside the church without being stopped by the reporters.
Without hesitating, Xavier walked into the church accompanied by Ben, who was his best man, and as he was walking inside, everyone kept on cheering at him. Some minutes later, Sarah also walked in her whole glory, accompanied by Lucy, who was her flower girl. Once Xavier saw her, he heaved a sigh as a warm smile spread through his face. As she was walking towards Xavier, everyone kept on cheering at her, including Justin and Richard, who were among the audience.
Getting closer, the pastor now asked both of them to exchange their marital vows, and with that, the microphones were given to both of them.
"Babe, you know after everything I did to you, I don't deserve to stand here today wanting to get married to you again? Someone once told me that as humans we never know the value of the gold we have until the day we lose it, and that was exactly what happened to me; you were my gold, my treasure, but I didn't recognize your value, and I almost lost you, and that was why I was determined to get you back at all costs, and here we are again. As we are getting married today, I'm putting my life into your hand as a guarantee this time around; if I ever mess up again, do to me whatever you want, but believe me, I'm never going to mess up again," Xavier said to her, and immediately everyone burst into a round of laughter, and Sarah, who was already on the verge of crying, wiped away the tears that were about to drop from her eyes. "I promise to love you, protect you, and, if required, sacrifice my life for you over and over again. I love you so much Sarah, and I will always do," Xavier said to Sarah before taking her hand and sliding the ring into her finger.
"As you said earlier, you don't deserve to get married to me once again, but neither do I; I almost killed you myself," Sarah said to Xavier, and immediately everyone burst into a round of laughter once again. "But then you did something that no one would have ever done for me; you took a bullet for me, and from that day onward I was like, I'm forgiving this guy; I'm getting married to him again; at least if not for anything, he will be taking bullets for me," Sarah said to Xavier, and immediately everyone burst into a round of laughter once again. I love you, Xavier. I know we have gone through many things with our differences, but here we are getting married again, and I promise to be a good, supportive, and lovely wife just as I have been in the past, but if you mess up again, I'm killing you myself," Sarah said to Xavier before taking his hand and sliding the ring into his finger, and without even waiting for the pastor to ask them to kiss each other, they immediately started kissing each other, taking the pastor by surprise.
"Ooh, it seems like I wasn't fast enough," the pastor muttered, and immediately everyone burst into a round of laughter before beginning to cheer for the couples, including Richard, who couldn't withhold his tears as he was witnessing his daughter finally getting married. As they were still kissing each other, the cheering intensified, with everyone wishing that they lived happily forever after, like in the fairy tale stories.
