Chapter 92: I Want You To Fire Xavier Now
"I want to talk to you about Mr. Renold," Xavier said to her.
"Yes, what happened to him?" Sarah asked him with furrowed brows.
"I want you to fire him," Xavier said to her.
"What?" Sarah asked him with furrowed brows.
"You mean you want me to fire Mr. Renold Gonzalez, the first person who invested in this company, even though he wasn't yet sure that I was going to buy it or not?" Sarah asked Xavier with furrowed brows.
"Yes," Xavier said to her in reply.
"And why should I do that?" Sarah asked Xavier.
"Because he's not a trustworthy person," Xavier said to Sarah, and immediately she scoffed at him.
"As if you are a trustworthy person," she muttered lowly.
"What?" Xavier asked her, not hearing what she said.
"I said that what you just told me isn't a valid reason to fire him. Imagine me calling him and telling him that I'm firing him because someone told me that he isn't trustworthy. Does that make sense to you? And secondly, I just announced to everyone some hours ago that he's one of the best shareholders. What will people think about me when they hear that I have fired him for no valid reason? Not only will I be ruining my image, but that of the company," Sarah said to Xavier.
"And who told you that I don't have a valid reason for asking you to fire him?" Xavier asked Sarah.
"If you have a valid reason, then go on and tell me," Sarah said to him.
"You see, Mr. Renold only invests in a company when it's doing well, but once the company starts facing any issues, especially financial issues, he's always the first to withdraw his shares, and not only that, he will also advise other shareholders to withdraw their shares," Xavier said to Sarah.
"Is that all?" Sarah asked Xavier with furrowed brows. From the way she was staring at him, he could already tell that she didn't believe him.
"Wait, don't you believe me, or do you think that I'm making all this up?" Xavier asked Sarah while concealing his anger.
"I never said that I didn't believe you; the only thing that I'm saying is that he did something to you doesn't mean that he's going to do it with me. I mean, you can't tell me to fire a shareholder because you don't like him or because you had issues with him in the past; it's a business that I'm running here, so I can't make decisions based on personal issues," Sarah said to Xavier, and he nodded without giving her a reply.
"Do you have any other things to say?" She asked Xavier.
"Yes, recently I have noticed that you have this bizarre habit of being cautious with people who you are supposed to trust and trusting people who you are supposed to be cautious with. I hope you don't end up regretting some of the decisions you are making recently," Xavier said to her before turning and walking away, not allowing her to give him a reply.
Once Xavier walked out, he saw Charles heading towards Sarah's office. Once their gazes met, Charles frowned at him.
As Charles was about to walk past Xavier, he immediately blocked him.
"Why were you glaring at me like that? Do you have any problems with me?" Xavier asked him with a cold tone.
"I'm the one who is supposed to be asking you that question. I was heading silently to my fiancée's office, and you blocked me. So do you have any problems with me?" Charles asked Xavier, and immediately he furrowed his brows at him.
"Wait, is your fiancée in this company?" Xavier asked Charles while feigning to be surprised, and with that, Charles glared angrily at him.
"Look, Xavier, I don't have time for your dramas this afternoon, and you should also know your place. I mean, how can you be harassing your boss's fiancée? Don't you know that I can ask her to get you fired, and she won't think twice before doing it? And with your financial situation, I'm sure that you won't want to get fired, so I will advise you to stay off my road and be a good boy before you lose your only source of income," Charles said to Xavier, and immediately he burst into a round of laughter.
After laughing to his satisfaction, he raised his head and looked at Charles before placing his hand on his shoulder, but without hesitating, Charles shoved his hand away.
"I can see that this little privilege that Sarah gave you to address her as fiancée has started making you see yourself on top of the world, but don't worry, it's already coming to an end, so I will advise you to embrace the privilege very tightly because you will soon be losing it. And please don't misunderstand me. When I said that you will soon be losing the privilege, I didn't mean that you will lose it and get a higher privilege, which is to become her husband, but you will be losing every single privilege you have with her, including the privilege of seeing her face talk and less of calling her name or addressing her as fiancée.
I will be taking my leave, my dear friend. I have a lot of things to take care of; I better get to it before you decide to tell on me to my boss and she decides to fire me," Xavier said to Charles before tapping him on the shoulder and walking away with a wicked smirk hovering over his face.
Once Xavier left, Charles, who was still speechless because of everything he said to him, started rushing to Sarah's office.
Getting to the front of the office without even knocking, he pushed the door open and walked in while fuming in anger.
"Hey Charles," Sarah called out to him, surprised by how he barged into her office.
"Is everything okay?" Sarah asked him because of his facial expression.
"Yes, everything is okay. I want you to fire Xavier now." Charles said to her:.
"What!!!" Sarah exclaimed in surprise.
