Chapter 41:Falling For Her
After the passionate moment with Sarah, Charles walked her to the garage where she took her car and started heading to her company.
Once she left, he smiled at himself before returning to his office.
When he got back to his office, he collapsed on his rotatable chair while grinning ear to ear.
After some minutes of spinning around on the chair, he touched his lips, remembering how deep and passionate the kiss he got from Sarah was. It's true that this wasn't the first time he had kissed a lady. He had done it countless times, but for a reason unknown to him, the kiss he got from Sarah felt so special, both the sensation and everything, it was as if it was the first time he had been kissed by a lady, if Sarah hadn't broken the kiss to catch her breath, he didn't know if he would have able to break free, he just couldn't get enough of her.
As these thoughts were running through his mind, he abruptly stopped and shook his head twice. This wasn't right, he was on a mission and wasn't supposed to allow his emotions to get in the way. If not, he was going to mess things up and, at the same time, he was going to have a serious problem with the old man.
Sighing heavily, he took his phone and placed a call across the old man, who picked up after some minutes of ringing.
"Hello Charles, how are you doing?" The old man asked him through the phone.
"I'm good, sir. What about you?" Charles asked him.
"I'm good too; I followed the interview, and I must admit that it was super," the old man said to him.
"Happy to hear that, sir. I also have good news that I want to announce to you," Charles said to him.
"OK, go on, please; I'm all ears," the voice of the old man sounded through the phone.
"She has finally accepted to become my girlfriend," Charles said to the old man over the phone.
"Really?" The old man asked him.
"Yes, sir," Charles said to him.
"Well, I'm proud of you; even though I was the one who did the whole job at your place, I'm still proud of you; at least you contributed to it," the old man said to Charles, and at the same time, the door of Charles' office burst open and immediately Adrian walked in.
Once Adrian walked in, Charles glared angrily at him, but due to the fact that he was on the phone with the old man, he remained silent while glaring angrily at him.
"Thanks for acknowledging me, sir; hearing this from you means a lot to me," Charles said to him, and immediately Adrian, who was about to sit down, hissed at him, knowing that he wasn't sincere with his statements. Without hesitating, Charles took the pen that was on his table and threw it at Adrian, but he was too quick to dodge it.
"Hope you know what the next move is." The old man asked him through the phone.
"Yes, sir, but I think that we will have to wait a little before proceeding with the second plan," Charles said to the old man.
"Yes, I'm aware of that. Make the hen feel at home first before killing it. So give her some time first," the old man said to Charles.
"Okay, sir, have a nice day then," Charles said to him.
"Same to you too," he said to him before hanging up.
Once he hung up, he immediately turned his gaze towards Adrian, who was grinning ear to ear.
"How many times have I told you to always knock before coming into my office?" Charles asked him with an angry tone.
"Well, I knocked many times but got no response; probably you didn't hear because you were on the phone," Adrian said to him.
"Whatever, by the way, what do you want?" Charles asked him.
"Nothing; it's break time already. I just wanted to congratulate you on your interview with your new target; both of you are actually trending online. I still can't believe that she kissed you during the interview just to save her reputation," Adrian said to Charles, and immediately he smiled at him, remembering how Sarah had kissed him.
"What's with the weird smile?" Adrian asked him with furrowed brows.
"Nothing," Charles said to him, and immediately his demeanor changed.
"Liar, what are you hiding from me? Don't expect me to believe that you are smiling sheepishly because she kissed you," Adrian said to Charles, and immediately he sighed heavily, knowing deep down that Adrian wasn't going to back off unless he told him the truth.
"Well, the truth is that she finally accepted to become my girlfriend," Charles said to him.
"Wow, that's really good news; this calls for a celebration," Adrian said to him before standing up and walking to the cupboard where Charles kept his drinks, and with that, he brought out a bottle of whiskey and two cups, which he filled before returning the bottle of whiskey to the cupboard.
"So if I didn't insist on you telling me what is making you smile, you weren't even planning to tell me about this?" Adrian asked Charles after he handed him the bottle of whiskey.
"Of course I was going to tell you; have I ever hidden something like this from you?" Charles asked him with furrowed brows.
"No," Adrian said to him in reply, and he nodded.
The old man must really be proud of you," Adrian said to him.
"Yeah, but mind you, he was the one who came up with the best plans that led to success," Charles said to him before taking a sip of his whiskey.
"You are right, but you were the one who did all the work, so you deserve your own praise," Adrian said to him.
"Well, he has praised me for it, so there's nothing to worry about," Charles said to him, and he nodded before taking a sip of his whiskey.
"Now that she has finally accepted to become your girlfriend, I hope there aren't any other problems," Adrian asked Charles.
"Actually, there's one," Charles said to him.
"What is it?" Adrian asked him.
"I think I'm falling in love with her," Charles said to Adrian.
"What!!" Adrian exclaimed in surprise.
