Chapter 71: Determined To Build Our Family Back
"Actually, it's about Charles and Sarah; I want you to stop them from getting married," Xavier said to him.
"What!!" Richard exclaimed with furrowed brows.

"You mean you want me to ask Sarah not to get married to Charles?" Richard asked Xavier with a furrowed.
"Yes," Charles said to Richard, and immediately he scoffed at him.
"And why should I do that?" Richard asked him.
"Because Charles isn't really who you guys think he is," Charles said to him.
"And who is he in reality?" Richard asked him.
"For now I can't answer that, but believe me, Charles is not who you guys think he is, and soon you will understand what I'm saying, and maybe by the time you will understand it, it's already too late because Sarah is already married to him," Xavier said to Richard, and immediately he huffed before inserting his two hands into his pocket.
"You see, Xavier, I know that you still love Sarah and are ready to do everything in your power to get her back, but that isn't a valid reason to lie against Charles. Remember there was a time when you had Sarah all to yourself? She was exclusively yours, and you weren't fighting against anyone in order to keep her, and she herself was ready to do everything for you. Do you know what she left behind back then just to be with you? Do you know that I was never in favor of your relationship with her, and because of that, she left home just to be with you? But how did you pay her back? You broke her; you made her experience what heartbreak is, and because of you, she swore never to fall in love again. I knew what it took me to convince her to give Charles a chance, and for Charles himself, I did a thorough background check on him, and I didn't find anything compromising about him," Richard said to Xavier, who kept silent, allowing him to finish what he was saying.
"You see, six years ago, when Sarah informed me that you divorced her and confiscated her newborn baby, I knew that a day was coming when you would come back looking for her, and believe me, I was patiently waiting for that day because it was on that day I had planned to make you pay for what you did to her, but with time I brushed that idea away. I'm getting older and older with each passing day, and there are things I have to let go of, and among those things is vengeance.
Sarah is still learning how to fall in love again after what you did to her, so I will advise you not to be a stumbling block for her, and about what you said about Charles, his marriage with Sarah is still around the corner; if you are able to prove to me that what you said about him is true, then I will personally stop the marriage, giving you the opportunity to claim her back," Richard said to Xavier.
"I'm happy to hear that, and thank you for giving up the idea of hurting me for what I did to Sarah in the past.
Just give me some time; I will prove to you that everything I said about Charles is nothing but the truth," Xavier said to Richard, who nodded in reply.
"I will be taking my leave now. See you around," Richard said to Xavier before turning around and walking away.
"Justin, let's get going," Richard said to Justin, who was sitting down inside Xavier's car.
"Actually, I was thinking about asking him to spend the week with me since today is Friday. I will bring him back on Sunday so that he can prepare in advance for his school on Monday," Xavier said to Richard, who sighed before looking at Justin.
"Is that okay with you?" Richard asked Justin, who nodded in reply after some minutes of reflection.
"Okay, no problem then. I will inform your mom about it when I get back home," Richard said to Justin before patting him on the bed.
"Ben, you really did a good job by keeping the men down until our arrival. See you around," Richard said to him before walking away and heading to his car with his two hands tucked inside his pocket.
"Sir, I will get going too; I brought my bike along," Ben said to Xavier, and he nodded in reply. With that, Ben started walking towards his bike.
"Let's get going," Xavier said to Justin, who got into the car and closed the door. With that, Xavier too entered inside, and without hesitating, he ignited the car and zoomed off.
"Hey Justin, I hope you aren't still angry at me?" Xavier asked Justin, breaking the silent atmosphere in the car.
"No, Dad, I have already forgiven you," Justin said to him, and with that, he smiled at him.
"Thanks for that," Xavier said to him while smiling at him.
"Daddy, is it true that Mummy is getting married to Uncle Charles?" Justin asked Xavier afterwards.
"Yes, Justin, that's what I heard," Xavier said to him.
"But Dad, I don't like him; I want you to get married to Mum instead of Uncle Charles," Justin said to Xavier.
"Well, I don't like him either, and your mom had already made her choice, so I don't think that there's anything I can do about it," Xavier said to Justin, who looked at him dejectedly.
"But you can try talking to Mom; I'm sure she will listen to you," Justin said to Xavier, and immediately he sighed heavily.
"I have done that already, but your mom had already made up her mind, but you see, it's not her fault; it's my fault that she doesn't want to listen to me; I was the one who hurt her in the past," Xavier said to Justin before stealing a glance at him.
"But Dad, I thought you told me never to give up; are you giving up already?" Justin asked Xavier, and immediately he smiled at him once again.
"Of course not; as long as I'm alive, your mom isn't going to get married to anyone else except me; I'm going to build our family back," Xavier said to Justin, and with that, he started beaming in smiles.
"Thank you so much, Dad," Justin said to Xavier.
"Don't mention it, dear," Xavier said to him in reply.
