Chapter 63: Give Him A Break

"What did you just say?" Sarah asked Lucy as both of them were heading to their office. "You heard me right ma'am, if you hate someone too much, you might end up falling in love with the person," Lucy said to Sarah who sighed heavily. "You know that's never going to happen," Sarah said to Lucy. "Yeah I'm aware of that, but keep on hating him and one day I'm going to remind you of what I just I said," Lucy said to Sarah. "Whatever," Sarah said to Lucy before rolling her eyes at her. "By the way, don't you think it's time to give Xavier a break, I mean he's been through a lot if you aren't actually the one who put him through a lot," Lucy said to Sarah before saying the last part in a low tone in order not to anger and with that Sarah stopped and looked at her with a furrowed brows. "I don't understand what you are saying," Sarah said to her before walking away and immediately Lucy followed her from behind. "Come on Sarah, you understand perfectly what I'm saying, he's been through a lot already and I know that you are the one who have been punishing him since all these while. Just give him a break already, you have beaten him to his last limit, do you think that he would ask to work for you if he had a choice?" Lucy asked Sarah and as she was about to reply she sighted Charles discussing with the receptionist probably he was informing her that he wanted to see Sarah. "Seems like your boyfriend have decided to pay you a visit in your company for the first time," Lucy who had already seen Charles said to her. "Yeah, we will talk later, probably after work, let me go and see and know why he came all the way here instead of calling me, it must be something very important," Sarah said to Lucy before walking towards the Charles who was still busy discussing with the receptionist. "What do you mean by I should wait, don't you know who I am?" Charles asked the receptionist with an angry. "Sir she's having a meeting with the board members and I can't call her, so please have a patience," the receptionist said to Charles who ruffled his hair in frustration and was about to yell at the receptionist when a hand held his shoulder and immediately he turned around only to see Sarah standing behind him with her hand placed on his shoulder. "Good afternoon Ma'am," the receptionist greeted Sarah once she her. "Good afternoon Cindy how are you?" Sarah asked her. "I'm good ma'am," the receptionist said to her. "Please let's go to my office, I was actually in a meeting with my board members just as she said," Sarah said to Charles who glared angrily at the receptionist before following Sarah from behind. Once they got into the office Charles sat down while Sarah sat down on the first right in front of him. "Today you decided to pay me a surprise visit, hope everything is okay?" Sarah asked Charles but he only nodded in reply but from his facial expression Sarah could already tell that everything wasn't okay. "Hey babe, you don't seem okay, what's the issue?" Sarah asked Charles and immediately he sighed heavily before raising his head and looking at her. "Sarah I want to ask you a question and I want you to be very sincere with me," Charles said to Sarah who furrowed her brows at him before nodding in reply while wondering what he wanted to ask her. "Do you love me?" Charles asked Sarah and immediately she smiled at him. "Yes of course I love you, don't tell me you are doubting about my love for you," Sarah said to him. "No of course, I'm not doubting. What about Xavier do you still love him?" Xavier asked Sarah and immediately she scoffed at his question. "I don't know why you are asking me this question, but Xavier is the last person I will love, and I will rather remain single than to be in love with Xavier," Sarah said to Xavier with a disgusted tone. From the way she was talking and her facial expression, Charles could already tell that Sarah hated Xavier but then why was she allowing him to get closer to her or is she just deceiving him "If you aren't in love with Xavier, then what is the meaning of this?" Charles asked Sarah before handing her his phone so that she can see the image on it. Once Sarah saw the image, her jaw almost dropped to the ground, the photo was taken the day she went to Xavier's office in order to sign the agreements for purchasing his company and it was at the moment Xavier held her closer to himself and tried kissing her that the photo was taken, but what he didn't understand was how he managed to take the pictures without her noticing it, it was only both of them in the office. "So?" Charles asked her jolting her back to reality. "Look Charles it's.. "I know, it's not what I think right?" Charles asked her not allowing her to finish what she was wanted to say and with that he stood up from the chair. "I thought you were different from other ladies but seems like I was mistaken, if there's one thing I hate the most it's sharing and even if I decided to share somethingw it won't be the lady I'm in love with. I already have too much problems I'm already taking care of and I don't want to add to it," Charles said to Sarah and turned to leave but Sarah called him. "Look Charles, it's not what you think, I can explain," Sarah said to him. "There's nothing there to explain; I will be taking my leave now, have a nice day or should I say evening," Charles said to her before walking out. Damn it," Sarah muttered to herself once Charles left. "You have gotten me this time around Charles, how I was thinking maybe it's time to give you a break but unfortunately you have just commenced the second part of the game. To be continued...
