Prologue

A Year Later "Xavier !!! Xavier !!!" The name of Xavier echoed from the sitting room. Once Xavier heard Sarah screaming his name from the sitting room, he immediately dashed out of the kitchen, where he was preparing a cup of tea for Sarah , and started running towards the sitting room. Once he came to the sitting room, he saw Sarah wriggling in pain while holding her protruding stomach. "Babe, are you okay?" Xavier asked Sarah . "How can you be asking me if I'm okay? Can't you see that my water has already broken?"Sarah asked Xavier . Her voice was filled with agony. "But, babe, I still don't get it. What do you mean by your water has already broken?" Xavier asked Sarah with a confused tone. "Argh!!! The baby is already coming out," Sarah screamed in pain. "Oh my gosh, that was what you were supposed to say instead of saying that your water has broken," Xavier said to Sarah . "Argh!!!" Sarah screamed once again in pain. "It's okay, babe, let's start going to the hospital," Xavier said to Sarah while carrying her despite her heavy weight. Once he carried her, he started heading towards the exit door. Before their arrival at the hospital, some doctors were already waiting for them with a stretcher. While arriving, Xavier had already called the hospital to inform her of their arrival. Once the car entered the hospital premises, some doctors rushed towards them with the stretcher, and without hesitating, they laid Sarah on the stretcher and started heading towards the labor room. Before entering the labor room, the doctor told Xavier to wait outside. While waiting, Xavier couldn't help but stroll up and down while waiting for the doctors to come out. After strolling around for some minutes, he took his phone and placed a call across Richard who picked up after some minutes of ringing. "Hello Xavier, how are you doing?" Richard asked Xavier after picking up the call. "I'm doing good Richard, what about you?" Xavier asked him. "I'm doing good too, by the way, hope everything is okay, if not you are sounding a little bit restless," Richard said to Xavier through the phone. "Well I'm currently at the hospital with Sarah, she already giving birth," Xavier said to Richard. "Really? And you are just telling me about it now," Richard said to Xavier through the phone. "Well that's why I called you, and it haven't been long since we arrived at the hospital," Xavier said to Richard through the phone. "Okay Xavier, I will be at the hospital in some minutes," Richard said to Xavier before hanging up the call. After hanging up the call, Xavier turned around only to see one of the midwives walking towards him. "Sir please, your presence is needed in the labour room," the midwife said to Xavier who didn't hesitate before following her from behind. Before getting inside the labour room, he was given a plastic attire that he put on like a gown. Coming inside the labour room, he saw Sarah , who was still lying on the bed with sweat covering her whole face. Meanwhile, the doctor and the midwives have been asking her to push, but she won't agree because the pain was unbearable for her and also it was her first time. "Please, you need to talk to her; it's taking more time than required. We know that it's painful, but she needs to push for the baby to come out." The doctor said to Xavier who sighed heavily before walking to Sarah and touching her sweaty forehead. "Babe, please, you need to push a little bit more. I know it's painful, but just try." Xavier said this to Sarah and immediately she glared angrily at him. "No, Xavier , don't tell me to push; you did this to me; if I knew, I wouldn't have gotten pregnant; if I knew that it was this painful, I wouldn't have opened my legs for you." Sarah said to Xavier angrily, and immediately the doctor and the midwives inside the labor room bursted into a round of laughter. "Ok, I apologize for getting you pregnant, but please, what has happened has happened, so please just add more effort." Xavier begged Sarah who was still glaring angrily at him. "Babe, can I hold your hand?" Sarah asked Xavier , who didn't hesitate before agreeing. Once Sarah took Xavier's hand, she started caressing it, and before Xavier could realize what was going on, his hand was already in Sarah 's mouth. Xavier only realized what was going on when she started biting his hand. As Xavier was screaming, so was she pushing, and in less than a minute, the cry of the newborn baby filled the labor room, and immediately Sarah passed out with Xavier 's hand still in her mouth. Doctor is she okay?" Xavier asked the doctor with a worried tone while holding his hand, which was already bleeding due to the bite he received from Sarah . "Yes, she is fine; she needs a little rest," the doctor said this to Xavier while carrying the newborn baby girl. "Can I carry her?" Xavier asked the doctor, who shook her head negatively. "Not yet Mr. Xavier, we need to clean her up, and also treat your bleeding hand first. So why don't you follow one of the nurses so that she can treat the wound also put some bandages on it before it gets infected," the doctor said to Xavier who nodded in reply before walking out with the nurse. When he came back some minutes later, Richard had already arrived with Justin and he was busy discussing with Sarah who was already awake. "Daddy!!" Justin ran towards Xavier to greet him. "Hey my champion how are you doing?" Xavier asked him as he squatted down to reach his height. "I'm good Dad, what happened to your hand?" Justin asked him while looking at his bandaged hand. "Well that's what I got for getting your mother pregnant," Xavier said to Justin before looking at Sarah who was grinning ear to ear. "Daddy is the baby my sister?" Justin asked before pointing at the incubator that was in a corner in the ward and that was when Xavier realized that the baby was actually in the ward with them and without hesitating he stood up and walked towards the incubator to take a proper look at the baby. "Yes Justin, she's your sister," Xavier said to Justin as he got closer and at the same time Richard walked to him. "Congratulations Xavier," Richard said to Xavier who was still admiring the baby that was sleeping peacefully in the incubator. "Thanks so much Richard," Xavier said to him with a warm smile. "Babe, so when are you finally going to buy me the Lamborghini you promised me when I finally give birth," Sarah asked Xavier from where she was lying and with that Xavier walked towards her while grinning ear to ear. "Well I was planning to buy you a Rolls Royce instead, but then you injured my hand and now I have used the money I wanted to use and buy the car to treat my hand, but don't worry, when you give birth to our third child, I will get you both a Lamborghini and Rolls Royce," Xavier said to Sarah with a teasing tone and immediately she glared angrily at him. "Never Xavier, if you don't fulfill your promise of buying me a Lamborghini, not only will we not be sleeping on the same bed, I will never allow you to touch me again talk less of getting me pregnant," Sarah said to Xavier who had already covered his two ears with his hand. "I can't hear you," Xavier said to Sarah who was glaring angrily at him. "Xavier!!!!" Sarah yelled his name angrily and immediately he bursted into a round of laughter. Meanwhile Richard couldn't withhold his smile as he watched his daughter who have fallen in love with the same man she was once determined to ruin, and they have even went to the extent of getting married and having another baby together. 'Love is a very strange thing' Richard thought inwardly with a warm smile hovering over his face as he was watching the couple playing lovey dovey not even minding his presence. The end..
