Chapter 49: Finally Found Him
Once Sarah left Xavier's company, a feeling of guilt and regret overwhelmed her, and immediately thousands of questions started running through her mind.
"Why did she leave her child in the first place?"
"Why didn't she try to claim him back once she returned to New York City, and if something bad happens to him, is she going to be able to forgive herself for it? And what if Justin believes that she abandoned him and decides never to forgive him?
As these thoughts were running through her mind, hot tears started streaming down her cheeks, making her vision blurry. Without hesitating, she quickly wiped the tears away, and immediately she saw a child who was wearing the same school uniform as Justin, and he was standing in front of the road, trying to cross to the other side of the road.
Without hesitating, she pulled over, got down from the car, and started running towards the child, not minding the fact that she hadn't even parked the car properly.
"Justin! Justin! She called out to the child while running towards him, and at the same time, a van with tinted windows was speedily approaching the child, but before the van could reach where the child was, Sarah pulled him off the road, locking him in her embrace, and at the same time, the van speedily drove past them.
Slowly raising his head, Justin saw the face of the lady whom he had dreamed about the previous night, the same person he had left school in search of. Even though he didn't know where to find her, he knew that he was surely going to find her. After all, she was his mother.
"Mummy," Justin called out to Sarah, who was looking at him with tears streaming down her face.
"Justin, my son," Sarah muttered, hot tears streaming down her face.
Seeing that she was crying, he too started crying, even though he didn't know why she was crying, if it was because she was crying or because he had missed her too much.
"Mummy, I missed you so much," he said to her.
"I missed you so much too; I shouldn't have left you in the first place. I'm so sorry," Sarah said to him while locking him in her warm embrace, and at the same time, Xavier too came to the scene.
Seeing that Sarah had already found it, he heaved a sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness you found him," he said to Sarah, who was still hugging Justin.
"Justin, what on earth is wrong with you? Are you planning to give me a heart attack or what? Why would you leave your school without anyone's consent?" Xavier asked Justin, but he hugged Sarah tightly while avoiding Xavier's gaze.
"Please, do you mind leaving us a little bit?" Sarah asked Xavier, and immediately he sighed heavily.
"Well, since you have already found him, I will be going back to the company, bring him back home when you are done," Xavier said to her before walking to his car and taking some documents and returning to where she was with Justin.
"These are the documents you were going through earlier; go through them when you are free and let me know about your final decision," she said to Sarah before handing her the documents. With that, he looked at Justin and shook his head before returning to his car and zooming off.
Once Xavier left, Sarah carried Justin to the car, and after sitting him down in the passenger seat, she too entered and zoomed off.
"So Justin, tell me, why did you leave school without anyone's consent?" Sarah asked him.
"I was looking for you," he said to Sarah, and immediately she furrowed her brows at him.
"Really?" Sarah asked him, and he nodded. Without realizing it, Sarah started smiling.
"But why were you searching for me? I thought you would be angry at me for leaving you," Sarah said to him.
"Mummy, did you really abandon me?" Justin asked Sarah, and immediately she sighed heavily before looking at him.
She did want to tell him everything that happened five years ago after his birth, but she couldn't just bring herself to tell him. She knew that once she told him the whole truth, Justin was surely going to hate Xavier the same way she hated him, and she didn't want to be the reason why Justin would hate Xavier after all, he was still his father.
"Who told you that I abandoned you?" Sarah asked him after some minutes of silence.
"It's my second Mummy; that's what she always told me, but last night before leaving, she told me that you didn't abandon me, that it was Daddy who chased you away after giving birth to me, and she was also the one who told me who you are; but since Daddy has told me not to believe anything she says, I decided to find you because I know that you are the only one who would tell me the truth," Justin explained to Sarah, and immediately she sighed heavily.
"You aren't even up to ten years old, and you have started becoming too curious. Don't allow your curiosity to get you into problems; what you did today is very dangerous; you almost got hit by a car; please don't do it again," Sarah said to him before patting him on the head, and he nodded.
"Now about your question: I never abandoned you, and I will never abandon you. I love you so much, and I can never do such a thing to you. It's true that there are some things I might not tell you now, but when the right time comes, I will tell you everything," Sarah said to him, and he nodded.
"About what your second mom told you about your dad, don't take it to mind; your dad loves you so much, you understand?" Sarah asked Justin, and he nodded once again.
"Mummy, can I ask you another question?" Justin asked Sarah.
"Yes, go on," Sarah said to him.
"Now that my second Mummy has divorced Daddy and left, are the two of you going to come back together so that we can become one happy family just like in the movies?" He asked Sarah while peering into her eyeballs.
