Chapter 104: A Huge Mess
"What do you mean by nobody is in the house?" Charles thundered angrily at one of his men through the phone.
"Boss, we had just searched the whole building, and there's no one inside; it's as if they knew we were coming," the man said to Charles.
"Have you searched each room to see if you will find a recording device?" Charles asked him.
"Yes, boss, we are still searching; the building is very huge," the man said to Charles.
"Okay, search thoroughly the whole building; if you see anything like an audio recording device, bring it to me; and if Xavier comes back, make sure you bring him to me. I don't care if you bring him dead or alive; just bring him here to me," Charles said to him.
"Okay, boss," the man said to Charles in reply before hanging up the call.
Once he hung up the call, Charles sighed heavily before crashing the burning side of the cigarette he was smoking on the ash plate, and with that, he took the glass of alcohol on the table and gulped it down.
Afterwards, he took the remote control of the television and switched it on, but the program that was displayed was the news of him and Xavier fighting, and to make things worse, the image that was used to highlight the news was that of Xavier on top of him punching him, and the caption was "The CEO of ZENITH EXPRESS ENGAGES IN A FIGHT WITH THE FORMER CEO OF QUIM CORPORATION WHO BEATS HIM UNMERCILESSLY."
Seeing this, Xavier gritted his teeth angrily, and without thinking twice, he threw the remote control on the television, but it didn't have any effect on it.
Seeing that it didn't have any effect on it, he took the glass he had used to drink alcohol and threw it on the television, and at the same time, he took the bottle of whiskey and threw it on the television, shattering the screen.
The fact that Xavier had become a permanent stumbling block for him was still something he couldn't accept, and now the whole news is showing that Xavier had beaten him up.
"Argh, damn you, Xavier, damn you. I swear through God, I'm going to kill you with my bear hands; I'm going to enjoy watching you die," Charles muttered angrily, and at the same time, he started hearing knocks on the door.
"Who is that?" He growled angrily.
"It's me, bro. Come and open this damn door," Adrian's voice sounded from behind the door.
Groaning in frustration, he stood up and walked to the door and opened it. Without uttering a word to Adrian, he turned back and walked to the sofa, and collapsed on it.
Once Adrian walked in and saw the condition of the sitting room, he widened his eyes in surprise.
"What the heck, man, did some robbers break into the house?" Adrian asked him with a surprised tone.
"Does this place resemble somewhere that was invaded by robbers?" Charles asked him with an angry tone.
"No, it doesn't; it looks like somewhere inhabited by someone who is supposed to be in a psychiatric hospital," Adrian said to him, and immediately Charles glared angrily at him.
"Look, Adrian, I'm already going through a lot, so please don't add to it. If you don't have anything important to say, you might as well take your leave," Charles said to him, and with that, Adrian shook his head in disbelief.
"Where are the maids? I didn't see any of them while walking in," Adrian said to Charles.
"I have fired all of them," Charles said to him.
"Unbelievable," Adrian muttered to himself.
"So after getting your ass kicked by Xavier, you now came back and vented your anger on the innocent maids. So tell me, who is going to clean up all this mess you made here?" Adrian asked him.
"Look, Adrian, I have told you that if you don't have anything important to tell me, you might as well take your leave. The reason you came here is to remind me that Xavier kicked my ass even though that never happened," Charles said to him.
"Well, that wasn't the reason why I came here; the reason why I came here is to inform you that the old man is very proud of you and he wants to see you. Since you switched off your phones, he asked me to come and deliver the message to you personally," Adrian said to him.
Once Adrian delivered the message to Charles, he immediately became frightened, knowing the consequences of his actions.
Without waiting for him to give him a reply, Adrian turned and started walking away.
"Why does he want to see me?" Charles asked Adrian as he was walking away, and with that, Adrian stopped and turned towards him.
"Well, you already know why he wants to see you, and I hate telling people what they already know. Just as I said earlier, he's very proud of what you did this evening; that's one of the reasons why he wants to see you, so you better not keep him waiting," Adrian said to him and started walking away.
"Adrian, please wait," Charles said to him, and with that, Adrian stopped and smirked inwardly.
"What is it, Charles?" Adrian asked him without turning around.
"I need your help," Charles said to him.
"Really? I thought you were the one asking me to take my leave just a few minutes ago." Adrian asked him.
"Yes, I did, and I'm so sorry about that," Charles said to him.
"Apologies not accepted," Adrian said to him and started walking away.
"Adrian, please, I need your help; I'm really into a huge mess," Charles said to him with a pleading tone.
"And who would have believed that the great Charles of New York City would one day be in a desperate situation where he would be pleading for my help?" Adrian asked with a wicked smirk before turning and walking to the couch and sitting down.
"I'm all ears; start talking," Adrian said to him with a serious tone.
