Chapter 121: It Meant Nothing To Her
It was eight p.m. in the night. Sarah had just woken up and was about to get up when she felt a hand wrapped around her waist, widening her eyes in surprise. She slowly turned around while praying deep down for what her heart was telling her not to be true, but when she turned around, what she saw was exactly what she was praying not to see.
Right in front of her was Xavier, who was sleeping peacefully with his hand wrapped around her waist.
Once she saw him, everything that had happened earlier came back playing in his head, including how she had been the one who took control of the kiss when Xavier had stopped, probably to confirm if she consented with it.
As she was staring at him, thousands of questions started running through her mind.
What was she thinking when she allowed him to kiss her?
How is she going to face him when he wakes up and also at work?
As these thoughts were running through her mind, she slowly ruffled her hair in frustration while being careful not to wake him up. If there was one thing she wanted, it was to free herself from his embrace without him noticing it. At least if she succeeds in escaping without his consent, she won't have to face him, and before the following day she will be prepared to face him.
Sighing heavily, she returned her gaze to Xavier's huge arm that was wrapped around her waist, and with that, she sighed heavily and slowly held his hand and tried to lift it up, but immediately Xavier groaned, and she left it alone and pretended to be sleeping.
After some minutes, when she noticed that Xavier didn't wake up, she slowly held his hand again and tried to lift it up, but Xavier groaned again, and with that, she left it again and closed her eyes, and at the same time, Xavier, while in his sleeping state, pulled her closer, wrapping his arm around her waist more tightly, preventing her from moving.
"Damnit, Sarah muttered to herself, knowing that it was going to be more difficult for her to escape, especially with the way Xavier was now wrapping his hand around her waist, caging her possessively with her head resting on his chest.
After many failed attempts, Sarah finally decided to wake Xavier up since it was the only choice she was left with, but as she was about to tap him, Xavier suddenly turned around, freeing her from his grip, and without hesitating she quickly got up from the bed and kept a pillow at the same spot where she was lying in case Xavier turns around and tries to grab something.
Once she turned, she took her dress that was on the ground and wore it, and afterwards she wore her shoe before slowly opening the door and walking out.
Getting downstairs, she immediately took her phone that was on the couch before walking to the door and opening it.
As she was about to walk out, she immediately had the strange feeling that someone was looking at her. Without hesitating, she quickly turned around and looked towards the stairs, but she didn't see anyone, and with that, she heaved a sigh of relief before walking out and closing the door.
Once she left, Xavier, who had been staring at her, came out from behind the stairs with his phone in his hand and shook his head in disbelief.
What he still didn't understand was why she was acting strangely after waking up. Actually, after the passionate moment they spent together, she had instantly dozed off, but he didn't; instead, he stayed awake admiring her beautiful face. Looking at her, he could still remember the moment when she was all his, the moment when he woke up every single day to see that beautiful face.
The moment when he didn't have to go through hell just to see her beautiful face, but then he was blinded by his selfish desires that he failed to notice the gold that was in his possession, and instead of maintaining it, he threw it away and went after the silver, the same silver that left him when he lost everything he had.
As these thoughts were running through his mind, he stretched out his hand and removed the strands of hair on Sarah's face, and at the same time she started opening her eyes and with that, he closed his eyes and wrapped his hand around her waist in order to see her reaction when she woke up, and from the way she reacted when she woke up, he could already tell that she wasn't pleased with it; instead, she regretted it, and that was why she wanted to flee without him noticing it.
As he was still standing beside the steps with many thoughts running through his mind, his phone started ringing, jolting him back to reality.
Without hesitating, he checked the caller ID, which was one of his security guards, and with that, he sighed heavily before picking it up.
"Hello, sir, she just left," the security guard said to him.
"Okay, I hope you delivered my message to Jamie." Xavier asked him.
"Yes, sir, he followed her from behind just as you instructed," the security guard said to him.
"Okay," Xavier said to him before hanging up, and with that, he walked to the door and locked it before climbing up back.
Meanwhile, Sarah had just gotten back to the mansion; after horning for some minutes, the security guard came and opened the gate for her, and with that, she drove directly to the garage and parked her car.
After parking her car and switching it off, she took her phone and was about to step down from the car when the memories of everything that happened started replaying in her head again, but immediately she shoved it away from her head and stepped down from the car, locked the door, and started heading towards the entrance of the house.
What happened between her and Xavier was just some moments of pleasure, which meant nothing to her, and she isn't supposed to be thinking about it; it might mean something to Xavier, but to her it meant absolutely nothing.
To be continued...
