Chapter 128: Shortlived Good News
"Switch on the television and go and go to any news channel," Richard said to her.
"Okay, Dad," Sarah said to him before standing up and walking to where the remote of the television in the conference room was, and with that, she switched it on and started searching for a news channel and at the same time wondering what the issue was.

As she found the news channel, she immediately switched to it before hanging up the phone in order to hear clearly what was being said on the television.
Meanwhile, Xavier, seeing her switch on the television while taking the call, sat down in order to see what was going to be displayed on the television.
Immediately she switched to the news channel, the news about the arrest of the famous syndicate named Old Man started displaying. According to the news, an anonymous contact sent every single piece of information about him to the cops, including his three hidden warehouses, giving the cops the opportunity to arrest him and to also invade his three warehouses, where tons of ammunition of different types were stockpiled.
"Wait just a minute, is this not the man Charles used to work for?" Xavier asked Sarah with a surprised tone.
"Well, it seems so; you heard his name, "the old man," and through the audio recording, the man who Charles always talked about was also called the old man, so it's surely him, and he is also old just like his name," Sarah said to Xavier, and at the same time her phone started ringing. Checking the caller ID, she noticed that it was her uncle, and without hesitating, she picked it up.
"Hello dear, Have you seen the news?" Richard asked her.
"Yes, Dad, I have seen it, but who the hell is the man, and why did he try to use Charles to steal my properties?" Sarah asked him with a confused tone.
"I know this might sound crazy, dear, but he's your uncle," Richard said to her through the phone.
"What!" You mean he's your brother?" Sarah asked him with a confused tone.
"Exactly, my dear, he's my brother. I didn't even know that he was still in this New York City; he disappeared with his son soon after losing his wife," Richard said to her.
"Wow, I actually didn't see that coming; while you were busy taking care of me, he, on the other hand, was busy planning how to steal my properties. Betrayal always comes from those related to us," Sarah said to him with a sad tone.
"You can say that again, but thank goodness he didn't succeed," Richard said to her.
"Yes, but about his son, do you think that it was Charles?" Sarah asked him.
"I don't think so; he would have never asked his son to get married to you since you are both related, and it also seems that the anonymous contact that sent the information to the cops is Charles. To send someone like him to jail, very strong evidence was surely needed, and it's only someone like Charles who was very close to him that can provide such evidence," Richard said to Sarah, who sighed heavily.
"Well, thank goodness he has been arrested, and I hope he spends the rest of his miserable life in jail, and I also hope that Charles will be caught very soon," Sarah said to him.
"I hope so too," Richard said to her.
"By the way, where are you right now?" Sarah asked him.
"At the hospital, but I will be leaving very soon," Richard said to her.
"Okay, Dad, and are you going to pay a visit to him at the police station?" Sarah asked him.
"I will, but not today; I will do that next time," Richard said to her.
"Okay, Dad, I'm happy to hear that. Let me know when you get back home," Sarah said to him.
"I will, dear," Richard said to her before hanging up.
Once the call ended, Sarah heaved a sigh before turning her gaze towards Xavier, who was still in the room.
"So Charles was actually working for your second uncle since all this while; that's really strange," Xavier said to her.
"Well, it's strange, but I'm not surprised. If someone to whom I was married divorced me and took my child just because of some mere properties, then why should I be surprised that my very own uncle wants to steal my properties?" Sarah asked Xavier, who looked at her with a displeased glare.
"You really know how to hold grudges; must you always bring up this issue whenever both of us are discussing? It's been more than five years since the event took place, but yet you keep on talking about it as if it just happened yesterday," Xavier said to her.
"If you say that I always bring it up whenever we are discussing something, then you are exaggerating; I only brought it up because it's similar to the present situation, and if I have started holding grudges, it's all thanks to you, and you well know that," Sarah said to him.
"Because someone did something evil to you doesn't mean you should be evil, and you well know that too," Xavier said to her.
"Whatever Xavier, break time is over; by the way, it's time to go back to work," Sarah said to him before picking up the remote and switching off the television, and with that, she started walking out of the conference room but was interrupted by Xavier's voice.
"What?" Sarah asked him with furrowed brows.
"Have you done a pregnancy test to know if you are pregnant?" Xavier asked her, and with that, she scoffed at him.
"Seems like you really want me to be pregnant for you," Sarah said to him before shaking her head in disbelief. "Well, sorry to disappoint you; I'm not pregnant, and it hasn't been up to two weeks since we slept together, so I can't yet do a pregnancy test," Sarah said to him.
"Okay, whenever you do it, just let me know," Xavier said to Sarah, who rolled her eyes at him before walking away. Getting into her office, she sat down on her chair and switched on her computer and was about to start working when her phone started ringing once again. Sighing heavily, she took the phone and checked the caller ID, which was her uncle, before picking it up, but when she placed the phone on her ear, the voice of the person she heard was totally different from that of her uncle, and hearing the person's voice alone sent shivers down her spine.
