Chapter 52: Claiming Back My Son
Xavier was inside his office, taking care of some documents, when he heard a knock on his door.
"Come in, please," he said, without asking who it was.
Once the door burst open, Sarah walked in.
"Hey, Mrs. Sarah, welcome back," Xavier said to her before standing up and adjusting the chair for her so that she could sit down.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Xavier. I must admit that you are really a gentleman; your wife is really lucky to have a man like you in her life," Sarah said to him with a mockery tone.
"Actually, I don't have one anymore, but the form is still open for new contestants; you can apply if you want," Xavier said to her before sitting down on his chair opposite Sarah.
"I'm already occupied, so I would rather pass. Can we go straight to business?" Sarah asked him.
"Yes, of course. I hope you have gone through the documents I gave you earlier." Xavier asked her.
"Yes, I have gone through it, but there are some clauses I don't agree with," Sarah said to him.
"Okay, which of the clauses are you not okay with?" Xavier asked Sarah, and immediately she brought out the documents given to her by Xavier.
"First, the clause about employing you as one of my employees; is that obligatory?" Sarah asked him.
"Yes, of course it's necessary. Do you want me to become jobless after selling the company?" Xavier asked Sarah.
"But I thought you said you wanted to sell the company in order to open a smaller company with fewer expenses?" Sarah asked him with an inquisitive look.
"Yeah, you are right, but I need to have something doing while opening the new company. You well know that the process of opening a new company takes some time," Xavier said to her, and immediately she sighed heavily.
"I don't know why I have the feeling that you don't have a good intention behind these clauses of yours; I hope my instincts aren't wrong," Sarah said to him.
"Don't worry, I don't have any bad intentions; after all, you will be the boss after buying the company, so you are free to fire me when I go against the rules and regulations you will set; that's also among the clauses," Xavier said to her.
"Yeah, you are right about that. If I eventually agree to this clause of yours, I will advise you to avoid getting on my bad side because I derive pleasure from firing people who go against the rules and regulations of the company," Sarah said to Xavier with a cold tone.
"Wow, I didn't see that coming; I will try my best not to get on your bad side," Xavier said to her.
"Better," Sarah said to him.
"So aside from this clause, is there any other reason you aren't okay?" Sarah asked him.
"Yes, aside from the clause you mentioned earlier, there's this one clause that I totally disagreed with, the clause in which you stated that you are going to be the one to choose the post you want to occupy in the company. What does that mean?" Sarah asked him with an inquisitive look.
"Ooh, about that. Remember what you told me this morning? You don't drink with your enemies, so in other words, I'm your enemy, so if I added this clause, it's to prevent you from asking me to become a security guard or a messenger in the company," Xavier said to her, and immediately Sarah ruffled her hair before sighing heavily.
"Do you know the feeling you are giving me here? You are making me feel as if I'm getting the company for free while I'm buying it with my money; now I will have to go through the stress of seeing your face every day, jeez," Sarah said to him before rolling her eyes at him.
"Wow, I never knew that seeing my face every day was going to become a stress to you, while in the past, you enjoyed seeing my face every single day," Xavier said to her, and immediately Sarah smirked at him.
"I don't know what you are talking about, Mr. Xavier Quim," Sarah said to him with a cunning smile.
"Let's just forget about that and concentrate on the main reason why we are here," Xavier said to Sarah, who nodded in reply.
"So what post do you wish to occupy?" Sarah asked him.
"What about your personal assistant?" Xavier asked her.
"Are you crazy? Not only will I have to face the stress of seeing your face in the company, I will also have to bear the pain of bringing you along whenever I have a business appointment outside the company and I need someone to join me," Sarah said to him.
"Well, it's just for a period of time; believe me, in less than two or three months, I will be gone. Don't tell me that you can't endure me for at least two to three months; after all, you have endured me for more than three years in the past, remember?" Xavier asked her.
"I don't know what you are talking about, Mr. Xavier Quim. By the way, what are your real intentions? Why do I have the feeling that you are trying to be close to me?" Sarah asked him.
"Well, everyone has their own ways of seeing things; you were the one who said it, so if this is your own way of seeing things, I don't have any problems with it; after all, buying my company is a personal decision you made," Xavier said to her.
"Using my own words against me, huh?" Sarah asked him.
"Did I?" Xavier asked her while feigning to be unaware of what she was saying.
"No, you didn't," Sarah said to him sarcastically.
"I think I need some time to think about these clauses of yours before making my final decision," Sarah said to him.
"No problem, Mrs. Sarah; take your time," Xavier said to her.
"Okay, I will be taking my leave now," Sarah said to him before standing up.
"What about Justin? Did you take him back home?" Xavier asked her, and immediately she shook her head negatively.
"No, I didn't; I think he will start staying with me from now on," Sarah said to him.
"What?" Xavier asked her.
To be continued...
