Chapter 66: Fake Promises

"Are you forgiving me or not?" Sarah asked Charles who was still grinning ear to ear and without giving her any reply he knelt down before and brought a little box from the side pocket of his suit and immediately everyone around gasped in surprise while others brought out there phones and started videoing what was about to happen. _________________ Sarah just couldn't believe her eyes as Charles knelt down before her and brought out a little box, she didn't need a fortune teller before knowing that it was a ring that was inside the little. Once she saw the box, many questions started running through her,was this happening for real? Was Charles really going to propose to her? This was the last thing she had imagined would happen when coming to zenith express, the only reason why she came to the company was to apologize to Charles and make things right between both of them, but here she was being proposed to by a man who she haven't even dated up to a month and the worst part of the whole issue is that it's a public proposal not a private one in which she could easily reject it and tell him her reasons. Right now she's only left with two choices: it's either she accepts when he proposes to her or she refuses humiliating Charles and also ruining every possiblity of them ever getting back together because of their reputations. As these thoughts were running through her mind, Charles voice jolted her back to reality and at the same time, she raised her head and saw everyone holding their phones waiting for Charles to start pronouncing the magic and romantic words before finally asking her if she would marry him. One thing was sure, it's either the event that taking is taking place end happily like in the movies or it ends badly. "Sarah to begin, I have forgiven you, no matter how hard I tried to be angry at you, I just couldn't, bring myself to be angry at you because deep down I knew that it wasn't your fault, he was the one who set you up in order to pull us apart because he thought that after divorcing you, no man would ever desire you again. Normally I'm the one who is supposed to apologize for not listening to your explanation before drawing my own conclusions," Charles said to Sarah but she remained silent while looking at him, overwhelmed by everything that was going on. "Right from the first day I saw you in that restaurant, I have known that you were mine, and that was why I was determined to win you over no matter what, I don't care if you are single mother, if you are a divorced lady or the reason why you got divorced, the only thing I care about is you and you and that's why I'm asking you this Sarah Jones, will you marry me?" Charles asked her before opening the little box showing her the diamond ring in the box. "Say yes!! Say yes!!" Everyone in the company started cheering when they noticed that Sarah was hesitating to reply. "Yes I will marry you," Sarah said to him while beaming in smiles and with that she stretched out her hand to Charles and took hold of it and placed the ring in it before pulling her up and kissing her passionately and immediately everyone started cheering while others started taking pictures and those videoing the scene started uploading it on their social media handles. "Shit, that was close," Adrian who have been observing them all these while muttered to himself. He had thought that Sarah was going to reject the proposal due to the fact that they hadn't dated for so long but fortunately she didn't. "Do you mind if I take you out for dinner?" Charles asked Sarah after they disengaged from the kiss. "No I don't mind," Sarah said to him while beaming in smiles. "Then let's get going," Charles said to Sarah before holding her hand and walking out while ignoring the employees who were busy taking their pictures. "I will drive," Sarah said to Charles once they got to the garage. "Okay no problem," Charles said to Sarah before following her to her car and with that Sarah opened the car and they both got in. "Which restaurant are we going to?" Sarah asked Charles after igniting the car. "The restaurant where we met for the first time, if that's okay with you," Charles said to Sarah. "Of course that's okay with me," Sarah said to Charles before zooming off. "Hey babe, I'm really sorry about those images, next time I will try and be careful so that what happened won't repeat itself again," Sarah said to Charles and with that he smiled at her before holding her hand that wasn't on the steering. "Come on babe, you don't need to apologize about that anymore, I have forgiven you and I have forgotten about that. As I said earlier, I'm the one who is supposed to be apologizing for not allowing you to explain yourself," Charles said to Sarah. "I have forgiven you too," Sarah said to Charles and with that he took her hand and kissed it. "Thank you so much, thank you for giving me a chance to love you, you can't imagine how much I love you," Charles said to Sarah. "I think that was supposed to be my part, you are the one who can't imagine how much I love you, and for giving you chance, I will always give you a chance, I hope you won't make me regret it," Sarah said to Charles. "No of course, I swear you will never regret giving me a chance and falling in love with me," Charles said to Sarah before kissing her hand again. "I'm so happy to hear that, by the way I want to ask you a question, why did you propose to me this earlier?" Sarah asked Charles. "I proposed to you this earlier because with the little time I have spent with you, it seems like I have almost spent half of my life with you and I also don't want to loose you to anyone, I want you to be my side today, tomorrow and forever," Charles said to her. "Well you don't need to worry, I'm yours forever," Sarah gladly said to him. To be continued..
