Chapter 126: Unexpected Betrayal
"Who is that?" He asked with a deep frown.
"It's me, boss; there are some military and policemen outside looking for you, and they are threatening to break in if you don't come out," one of the guards said to him from behind the door with a panicked tone.
"What!!" The old man exclaimed in surprise.

"What do you mean by there are military and policemen looking for me?" The old man thundered angrily at him. Even though he was into many illegal activities, he wasn't that dump to allow himself to be compromised. Ever since he got into his illegal activities, he has always made sure to keep a very low profile, and that's why no one knows about him, not even Richard, his older brother.
For almost all his business, he always has people doing everything for him while he stays at home to supervise. Even the only legal company that he had, which was the one Charles was taking care of, he never for once showed himself as the real owner; he left everything in Charles's hand and all this so that no one will ever know about him except for some people who were also into illegal activities just like him.
Getting up from the bed, he quickly rushed to the door and opened it in order to go and see the police officers and also know what they want, but once he opened the door, he was met with three military men walking towards his door; they had actually broken in just as they said.
"What is the meaning of this? How can you guys just break into my house like that as if I'm a thief, and do you guys even have a warrant?" The old man asked them while trying not to show how panicked he was.
"Yes, we have a warrant, Mr. Old Man," one of the military men said to him, and immediately he furrowed his brows while wondering how they found out about his name.
"You are surprised, right? You thought we would never find out about you being the famous old man who we have been searching for since all this while," one of the military men said to him.
"What are you talking about, and who told you guys that I'm the old man?" He asked them while trying to hide his surprised facial expression.
"You don't need to pretend anymore, Mr. Old Man," one of the men said to him before motioning for his colleague to go and handcuff him.
"One thing you syndicates ignore is that sooner or later a member of yours will surely betray you, and as we are speaking, our men are already busy invading your three hidden warehouses," the military man said to the old man, and immediately he held his chest and started panting. From what the military man was saying, it was already clear to him that Charles was behind this. Aside from Adrian, Charles was the one who knew where his three warehouses were located because most of the time, when the goods arrive from other countries, Charles and Adrian are always the ones to supervise the offloading and everything else, and as far as he knows Adrian, he would never betray him; he's not even sure if he's still alive, so Charles is the only one who is likely to be behind this.
"I don't know what you are up to, old man, but if you want to die, you better die right away because with all the evidence we have against you, you are surely going to spend the rest of your old life in jail," the military man said to the old man as he was handcuffed.
"What evidence?" The old man asked him with a fainting tone.
"You will find out when we get there," the military man said to him before walking to the security guard, who came to alert the old and handcuffing him also.
"You know we can talk about this," the old man said to the military, who furrowed his brows at him, a hint of interest showing in his eyes.
"What do you mean by that?" The military man asked him before looking at his colleague.
"I mean, we can negotiate like real men that we are," the old man said to the military man, a wicked smirk hovering over his face as he saw the interest showing up on the military man's face. From the way he was smiling, it was already clear to the old man that he knew what he was talking about, and he had done it before.
With a smiling face, the military man walked closer to him as if they were about to exchange a very important secret.
"And how are we going to do that, if I may ask?" The military man asked him while lowering his tone a little bit.
"Come on, don't talk as if you don't know how; all you have to do is mention the price you will take to do the needful," the old man said to him with a sinister smile.
"And what is the needful? At least I need to know what to do before mentioning my price." The military man said to the old man before looking at his colleague, who nodded in reply.
"To eradicate the whole evidence and to make all this seem as if it never happened," the old man said to the military, who furrowed his brows as if he were reflecting over the old man's proposition.
"You know I can change your life, right? So feel free to mention any price you want," the old man said to the military man, who looked at his colleague before bursting into a round of laughter.
"Nice try, old man. You think you can buy my loyalty with your illegal money? Well, why don't you try buying your liberty with it when you reach the jail? And thanks for adding you to the evidence we already have," he said to the old man before bringing out the audio recording device in his pocket and replaying the conversation right in front of him.
"Let's go," he said to his colleague before heading to the exit with the guard he had arrested.
Once they came out, the old man was surprised to see the number of military men that surrounded the house, and they had also packed the weapons they had in the house, and all his guards have been arrested too. In addition to that were the reporters, who had already filled the front of the mansion, and once they came out, the reporters started trying to reach them while throwing tons of questions at them, but the policemen blocked them as the old man was led to the military van including the old man's men too.
