Chapter 44: Planning To Buy His Company
Once Xavier left, Sarah sighed heavily before igniting her car and zooming off.
As she was driving back home, she couldn't help but think about the words Xavier had said to her; she could still hear his voice ringing in her head.
"You are still mine, whether you love it or not."
"What is he up to? Is he planning to separate her and Charles? It's not even up to twenty-four hours since she agreed to become Charles girlfriend, and she's already been threatened and claimed as if she was some kind of object, and for a reason unknown to her, she couldn't even talk to him. It was unlike her; she was always in control whenever she met him, but this time he was the one who was in control, and she hated it. Now the only question she could ask herself was whether to inform Charles about it or not.
As far as she knows Cahrles, he is surely going to attack Xavier once he hears about it, and if they aren't careful, the media might come to know about it, and that was the last thing she wanted in the meantime, especially for issues having something to do with relationships.
As these thoughts were running through her mind, she drove into the mansion, and with that, she drove into the garage and parked her car before heading inside.
Once she walked inside, she saw her uncle sitting on the couch, watching the news as usual.
"Good evening, Dad. How are you?" Sarah asked her uncle before walking to him and kissing him on the cheek.
"I'm fine, dear. How was your day?" Richard asked her.
"My day was fine, dad; what about yours?" Sarah asked him before collapsing on the couch.
"Fine as usual; after all, I was at home throughout the whole day, so there's no way that my day won't be fine," Richard said to her in reply.
"Well, I think it's high time you resume going to work; you have been at home for a very long time," Sarah said to Richard, and immediately he rolled his eyes.
"If you are tired of taking care of the company, simply tell me so that I can find someone to take care of it," Richard said to Sarah while feigning to be angry.
"Unfortunately, I'm the only one who can take care of your companies; I don't see you entrusting your companies to anyone else except me, especially with your trust issues," Sarah said to him with a smirk.
"I must admit that you know me well; I can't entrust the company to anyone except you; if not, I have a brother out there, but still, I chose you; that's because I trust you with all my heart," Richard said to her.
"Thanks for trusting me, and believe me, I'm never going to disappoint you," Sarah said to him.
"I'm already aware of that, dear," Richard said to her with a warm smile.
"By the way, Dad, you have never talked to me about your brother; where is he?" Sarah asked him.
"I don't know, and I will advise you not to search for him; he's not a good influence," Richard said to Sarah, and she nodded in reply.
"By the way, I'm really impressed by the way you and Charles took care of the company's issue today; both of you did it in a very professional way that no one would even know that the both of you aren't in a relationship," Richard said to Sarah.
"Actually, we are already in a relationship; I have given him a chance," Sarah said to Richard, who widened his eyes in surprise.
"Wow, I'm very happy to hear that; that means that you are some steps away from marriage," Richard said to Sarah with a warm smile, and immediately she frowned at him.
"Dad, you are mistaken; I'm still many steps away from marriage; the both of us just started dating, and you are already thinking of marriage. I don't even know him very well." Sarah said this to her uncle.
"In this life, it's good to always view things in a positive way; you don't date people for fun; when dating someone, the main goal is getting married to the person at the end, so if you know that marriage isn't on the agenda, you better tell that to Charles now that the relationship is just getting started; he will only get hurt a little bit; it's better than telling it to him some months later," Richard said to Sarah with a sincere tone.
"Come on, Dad, of course I'm planning to get married, but whoever I'm going to get married to has to prove to me that he's worthy of my trust and love; if not, it's not going to be easy for me to trust someone to the extent of entrusting my heart to him. I have trust issues just like you," Sarah said to Richard with a sinister smile, and immediately he rolled his eyes at her.
"Whatever, just hurry up and get married. As you can see, with each passing day I keep on getting older and older, so I want to witness you in a white gown getting married to the love of your life, and secondly, I have many things to tell you when you get married," Richard said to her.
"Why can't you tell it to me right away?" Sarah asked him with furrowed brows.
"Because you are still a little girl," Richard said to Sarah, and immediately she frowned.
"I will stop seeing you as a little girl the day you get married," Richard said to Sarah, and she frowned more, and with that, Richard burst into a round of laughter.
As Richard was still laughing at Sarah, they started announcing on television that, due to financial problems, Xavier Quim wants to sell Quim Corporation in order for the company to not accumulate debts for the owner.
"You aren't planning to buy the company, right?" Richard asked Sarah with furrowed brows.
"What will I gain if I don't buy the company? After all, that company was given to him after he turned me into his breeder, so I'm just going to claim back what rightfully belongs to me," Sarah said to Richard with a wicked smirk.
