Chapter 132: Taking A Bullet For Her

"I thought I asked you not to tell anyone about this?" He asked Sarah with a fierce tone while pointing his gun at her. "I swear I didn't inform anyone before coming I swear," Sarah said to him while trembling in fear and at the same time the gunshots resounded once again. "Damnit," he muttered before lowering the gun. "Go on put on the clothes we are leaving now," Charles said to Sarah. "What?" Sarah asked him in surprise. "I said you should put on the damn clothes," he yelled at her before pointing the gun at her. "Okay, okay," Sarah said to him with a frightened tone before removing the clothes she was putting on and beginning to put on the one given to her by Charles. ______________________________________ As she was putting on the clothes, Charles brought out his phone and placed a call across some of his men but none of them picked up. Damnit," he muttered once again before placing a call across someone else who picked up after some minutes of ringing. "Hello is the jet ready?" Charles asked the person after he picked up. "Yes boss the jet is ready," the person said to Charles. "Perfect I will be there in some minutes," Charles said to him before turning his gaze towards Sarah who was still trembling while putting on her clothes. "Aren't you done yet," he growled angrily at her while looking at her exposed body as she was putting on the dress. "I have finished already," Sarah said to him before pulling the dress down. "Let's go then," he said to her before walking towards her and grabbing her by the hand and pulling her closer using her as a shield as he was he was heading towards the door. Opening the door, he looked around and when he didn't see anyone coming, he started heading walking straight ahead while looking at both sides to see if anyone was coming either from behind or from the front. As he was pushing her forward, he noticed that Sarah was slowing down and with that he pushed her roughly urging her to move faster before someone catches up on them, but suddenly, Sarah did the last thing he had thought she would do. Using her elbow she knocked him directly on the nose causing him to groan in pain and at the same time letting go off the gun he was holding, and before he could react she kicked him on the groin and without thinking twice she took to her heels, but that was the worst mistake she made because despite the fact that Charles couldn't reach out to the gun on that was some meters away from him due to the severe pain he was going through, he still had another gun by the side of his pocket and without thinking twice he pulled it out. "Sarah if I can't have you then no one else can," he muttered in the midst of pain before firing the gun at her. Sarah on the other hand hearing the sound of the gunshots froze instantly, waiting for the severe pain of the bullet to spread through her body. Even if haven't been shot before, she have at least seen people dying after being shot on the television, so she can already tell that she was going to go through a severe pain before dying from the gunshots. But after waiting for some minutes she felt nothing, instead she was jolted back to reality by the sound of another gunshot and that was when she slowly turned around only to see Xavier standing in front of Charles who was lying lifelessly on the ground with blood gushing out of his body. " Are you okay?" Xavier asked her with a faint smile after turning towards her. "Yes I'm okay?" She muttered in shock and at the same time her eyes travelled down to Xavier's stomach from which red liquids were already dropping from and that was when she understood that Xavier had actually taken the bullets that Charles shot at her when she ran off. "I'm happy to hear that," Xavier said to her with a faint smile before falling down on his knees while holding his bleeding stomach. "Xavier," she called out to him before running towards him. Once she got to where he was, she immediately squatted next to him allowing him to rest his head on her lap and without hesitating she's quickly removed her clothe using it to cover Xavier's bleeding stomach. "Sarah take care of Justin, tell him that Dad loves him so much," Xavier said to Sarah while breathing hard. "No Xavier I'm not telling him that, you aren't dying on me okay," she said to Xavier while searching for his phone to call the ambulance and without even realizing it hot tears started streaming down her cheeks. It's true that she hated Xavier, but seeing him in this condition and knowing that he's currently in this condition because he took a bullet for her made all the hatred she had towards him to die down like a charcoal on which on a huge quantity of water was poured on. As she was still searching for Xavier's phone, she started hearing the sound of sirene from outside meaning that the police had already arrived and if possible an ambiance too. "Let me go and alert the police officers," she said to Xavier and made to stand up but Xavier held her back "Can I ask you one last favour?," Xavier asked her while breathing hardly. "Can't it wait?" She asked Xavier while wiping away the tears on her face but Xavier shook his head negatively. "Will you marry me if I survive this?" Xavier asked her taking her aback. Hearing him asking her to marry him despite the fact that he was on the verge of dying, more tears started streaming down her cheeks. "Yes I will marry you, as long as you fight to stay alive," she said to him while sobbing uncontrollably and with that Xavier smiled faintly at her "Thank you for everything," Xavier said to her and stretched out his hand to wipe away the tears on her face, but once his hand touched her face, it fell down back as his breath ceased. "No, no,no, Xavier!!!!" Sarah screamed his name and at the same time choking on her tears as she noticed that he was no longer breathing. To be continued...
