Chapter 106: Going To See The Old Man
Getting to the door, she opened it only to meet Charles, whose left hand was bandaged, and on his other hand was a buck of flowers.
"What the hell happened to you?" Sarah asked him, seeing his bandaged hand.

"Good evening, sweetheart." How are you?" Charles asked Sarah before handing her the buck of flowers.
"Thank you," Sarah said to him after some minutes of silence, and with that, she collected the buck of flowers from him.
"So what happened to your hand?" Sarah asked him with a worried tone while peering into his eyeballs.
"Can I come inside?" Charles asked her, ignoring her question.
"Yes, come in, please," Sarah said to him, realizing her mistake.
Smiling at her, Charles walked inside, and after removing his shoes from the doorpost, Sarah led him to the sofa.
"Good evening, Richard; sorry for the late visit." Charles greeted Sarah's uncle, who was staring at him with an expressionless gaze. With that, he sat down on one of the sofas on the left side of Richard.
"Good evening, Charles. How are you?" Richard asked him.
""I'm fine," Charles said to him while maintaining a smiling face.
"Are you sure that you are fine? If not for me, you don't like fine, especially with the bandage on your hand," Richard said to Charles.
"Ooh, about this, it's not that serious; I had a little accident while heading back home," Charles said to Richard.
"What!! How did it happen?" Sarah asked him with a frightened tone.
"Come on, sweetheart, you don't need to be frightened; after all, it wasn't that serious," Charles said to Sarah, enjoying the fact that they were all falling for his lies.
"What do you mean by it's not that serious? You got your arm broken, and you are claiming that it's not that serious. Mind you, our wedding is in two days," Sarah said to Charles.
"Yeah, I'm aware of that, and I'm sorry. I should have been more careful; after the fight with Xavier, I was so angry that I didn't pay attention while driving," Charles said to Sarah, and she sighed heavily.
"By the way, why did you switch your phones off?" Sarah asked him.
"And what was the reason behind the fight between you and Xavier?" Richard asked him instantly, with an inquisitive look.
"First, I switched off my phone because of the thousands of messages that were flooding into my phone after the news went viral. If I didn't call you, it's because I wanted to meet you face-to-face and explain everything to you myself," Charles said to Sarah, and she nodded in reply.
"And for the fight, someone sent me some flowers this evening, and inside the flower was a letter, and the sender stated through the letter that I should stop wasting my time with you and that as long as he's alive, I will never be happy with you." Charles said to Sarah and Richard, and with that, they looked at themselves surprisedly.
"Was the address of the sender inside?" Richard asked Charles, and with that, he shook his head negatively after some minutes of silence.
"Then why the hell did you attack Xavier?" Richard asked him.
"Well, that's the mistake I made; I shouldn't have allowed my anger to take the better part of me. Since he has been against our marriage since the beginning, I thought he was the one who sent it, and without thinking twice, I went to confront him, and unfortunately, things ended more badly than expected," Charles explained to them.
"To be sincere, what you did was very irresponsible; even though Xavier was the one who sent it, you should have just ignored him. Silence is the best answer for a fool. But instead of ignoring him, you went ahead and attacked him, and by so doing, you have ruined the image of the company Sarah was still struggling hard to build up its image, and aside from that, you also ruined your own image and that of Sarah, who is going to get married to you in two days.
If I were her, I would have called off the wedding in the meantime until everything calms down, but that's her decision to make. I can't make such decisions for her." Richard said to Charles:.
"Well, I'm not calling off the wedding; we will still get married on Sunday, but that will be under one condition," Sarah said to Charles.
"What is it?" Charles asked Sarah.
"You have to make a live video explaining what happened to everyone, that what happened between you and Xavier was a minor misunderstanding, and at that you were at fault, and afterwards you will also apologize to the public for it," Sarah said Charles.
"No problem with that; what about Xavier?" Charles asked her.
"Well, you were the one who attacked him, and in other words, he was only trying to defend himself, and I don't think there's anything he's going to do," Sarah said to Charles.
"No problem with that; I will do the live video tomorrow," Charles said to Sarah.
"I'm happy to hear that; thank you so much," Sarah said to Charles.
"Don't mention it, please; anything for you," Charles said to Sarah before looking at Richard, who gave him a positive nod.
"I will be taking leave now; it's already late, and I need to get some sleep, so as you guys," Charles said Sarah before standing up, and with that, Sarah too stood up and walked him to the door before kissing him goodbye.
Once Charles walked out of the mansion, he started walking through the lonely road, and with that, a car drove from behind and pulled off before him. With that, he opened the door of the car and walked in.
"How was it?" Adrian asked him once he walked in.
"Perfect, everything went as planned," Charles said to Adrian while removing the bandage from his hand.
"I'm happy to hear that; now it remains to go and see the old man," Adrian said to him before zooming off.
