Chapter 59: He Is Mine And Mine Alone

Once Xavier hung up the call, Sarah smiled at herself before dropping her phone on top of her desk. She had known that announcing the news about buying Xavier's company and employing him as her personal assistant was going to tarnish his image a little bit, but she never imagined that it was going to cause great chaos like it's during. Now on every social, it's what it's been discussed about. At least with what just happened, Xavier would never make attempts on her again. He would also know that she's not going to make life easy for him throughout the whole period he is going to work as her personal assistant, so it would better for him to o get himself ready. With all these running through her mind, she sighed heavily before standing up, walking out of my office, and heading to the bathroom. After meeting my needs,she returned to my office only to find my phone that I had left on my desk ringing. Without hesitating, she immediately rushed to my desk, took her phone, and checked the caller ID, which was an unknown number. After staring at the number for some minutes, she finally picked up the call and placed it in my ear. "Hello, who is this?" She asked after placing the phone in my ear. "Hello, Sarah, how are you?" A familiar voice of a lady sounded through the phone. "Who is this, please?" Sarah asked again while trying to process who the person was. "Come on, Sarah, don't tell me you don't remember my voice." The voice of the lady sounded once again through the phone, and after some minutes of reflection, Sarah suddenly realized who she was. "Hello, are you still there?" The lady asked once again through the phone. "Yes, I'm still here, my co-ex-wife. To be sincere, you were the last person I was expecting a call from; I hope you didn't call me by mistake," Sarah asked her. "Of course, I didn't call you by mistake; I wanted to talk to you; that's why I called you," Claudia said to her through the phone. "Okay, I'm all ears," Sarah said to him. "Well, I heard that you have bought Quim Corporation, and you also employed Xavier as your personal assistant... "Yes, you are right, and I also heard that Xavier had divorced you," Sarah chipped in with a mockery tone, not allowing her to finish what she was saying. "Actually, I was the one who asked for a divorce, so I'm the one who divorced him, not the other way around," Claudia said to Sarah through the phone. "Okay, I understand; if not, I never imagined that a day was coming when you were finally going to divorce Xavier after what both of you did to me. You see, I never believed in karma until the day I heard that both weren't together anymore; it was from that day that I believed that karma existed," Sarah said to Claudia over the phone. "What happened between Xavier and me had nothing to do with karma; you were the one behind everything—the sinking of his ships, ruining his reputation over and over again, drugging my drink so that people would think that I was a drunkard. Whether you admit it or not, I know that you were the one behind everything, and soon... "Wow, hold it right there, Claudia. I hope you know that you are accusing me of crimes that I never committed or even thought of committing, and I can sue you for that. So if you want to accuse me of anything, you better have some proof that justifies your accusations. Come to think of it, why would you divorce Adrian at this very moment in which he was going through a rough time? Don't tell me you married him because of his money," Sarah said to Claudia over the phone. "The reason why I got married to Xavier and the reason why I asked for a divorce is none of your business; we were married couples and we had our internal issues, issues we didn't want to share with outsiders," Claudia said to her. "To be sincere, Claudia, I'm not surprised. If you were able to pretend to be my friend for three good years just in order to get me to bear a son for Xavier so that he could inherit his father's properties, then I'm afraid that there's nothing you aren't capable of. I hope you find another man as rich as Xavier who you can also exploit, but remember that soon everything you are doing right now is going to catch up with you," Sarah said to her over the phone. "Look, Sarah, enough with all these accusations and lectures of yours. When I called you, I told you that I wanted to talk to you and not receive lectures from you; are you going to hear me out or not?" Claudia asked Sarah. "Yes, I'm all ears; go on and tell me whatever you want to tell me, but don't ask me a favor," Sarah said to Claudia, and immediately she laughed through the phone. "Well, I heard that you employed Xavier as your personal assistant. I just wanted to inform you that the fact that I had divorced Xavier doesn't mean you can take him; Xavier is mine and mine alone," Claudia said to Sarah, who immediately burst into a round of laughter. "What makes you think that I want Xavier back?" Sarah asked her after laughing to her satisfaction. "Why will you employ him in the company you bought from him and even make him your personal assistant if you don't want?" Claudia asked Sarah, who shook her head in disbelief. "Look Claudia, I'm not a dog who goes back to what he had vomited; if you want Xavier, he's yours and yours alone, just as you have stated, and for the reason why he will work in the company after I have bought it, that's personal; I can't discuss that with you," Sarah said to her. "Well, you better be telling the truth because I bet you won't like what I will do if I ever hear that you are going out with Xavier. I would rather be dead than see both of you together. Have a nice day," Claudia said to Sarah before hanging up. "Wow, unbelievable," Sarah muttered to herself before saving the audio recording of the whole conversation she had with Claudia on the phone. "Fools, this is just the beginning," she muttered to herself before dropping her phone on the desk and leaning back on her chair. To be continued...
