Chapter 87: A Favour For Mummy
Since the previous Saturday, when Justin asked Sarah not to get married to Charles and she refused, both of them haven't been on good terms as usual.
From the way Justin has been reacting coldly with her, she could tell that he was angry at her, and the worst part of the whole story is that there's nothing she can do about what he was asking for. She can't just break up with Charles for no valid reason; the fact that Justin doesn't like him isn't a valid reason to break up with him, and they had also announced on their social media handles that they were getting married the following month. Due to Sarah's reputations, she can't just announce to everyone that she's calling off the marriage because her son doesn't like her new fiancée; surely everyone is going to portray her as a bad person, and that would be very bad for her companies.
The only option she has is to find a way to convince Justin to give Charles a chance, and that was exactly what she was going to do.
As usual, after bathing him, she asked one of the maids to help him put on his school uniform and arrange his school items while she also got herself ready.
After getting herself ready, she climbed downstairs and met her uncle having breakfast with Justin.
"Daddy, good morning," Sarah greeted her father before pecking him on the cheek.
"Good morning, Sarah. How was your night's rest?" Richard asked her.
"It was fine, Dad; what about yours?" Sarah asked him after sitting down in front of the dining table, beside Justin.
"It was fine too, my dear; today is the inauguration of your new company, right?" Richard asked Sarah.
"Yeah, Dad,I would have really loved it if you were present during the inauguration ceremony," Sarah said to him while eating her food.
"Come on, Sarah, I thought we had discussed this; I would have really loved to be present for you, but I can't due to my health issues. What about if something happens to me there or my health issues worsen when we get there? Not only will I interrupt the ceremony, I will also give the reporters something to talk about," Richard said to Sarah, and he sighed heavily.
"Grandpa, are you sick?" Justin asked Richard, and immediately he shook his head negatively.
"No, I'm not, or do I look sick?" Richard asked him.
"No, you don't, but you said you can't go to Mummy's new company because of your health issues, but normally someone who has health issues is sick, right?" Justin asked Richard, who smiled once again before patting his head.
"You are right, someone who has health issues is sick, but my case isn't the kind of sickness you are thinking about; if I'm having health issues, it's because I'm already getting old, but that doesn't forcefully mean that I'm sick; I'm still okay, and I'm not at the hospital like sick people," Richard said to him before scooping his food into his mouth.
"Grandpa, please, can you take me to school?" Justin asked Richard while avoiding Sarah's gaze.
"No," Sarah said to him before Richard could even reply.
"But..."
"No, but young man, I will be the one taking you to school; now eat your food and let's get going," Sarah commanded Justin, and with that, he looked at Richard, thinking he would defend him, but to his greatest disappointment, Richard didn't even say a single word.
"I'm full," Justin said to Sarah while leaving behind the remaining food.
"Okay, perfect, let's get going then," Sarah said to him before taking a tissue and wiping clean his mouth, and with that, she stood up and took her handbag.
"Dad, we will get going. Have a nice day," Sarah said to Richard before approaching him and kissing him on the cheeks.
"Okay, my dear, have a nice day," Richard said to her in reply.
"Goodbye grandpa; see you in the afternoon," Justin said to Richard before hugging him.
"Okay, dear, see you in the afternoon," Richard said to him before patting him on the head as usual, and with that, he disengaged from the hug and followed Sarah, who was already heading to the garage.
Before he got to the garage, Sarah was already inside the car. Without hesitating, he opened the car and got inside, and with that, Sarah ignited the car and zoomed off.
"Justin, are you angry at me?" Sarah asked him after some minutes of silence, but he remained silent while facing the other side of the window.
"Justin, I'm taking you," Sarah said to him, and immediately he turned and looked at her without uttering a single word.
"Are you angry because I want to get married to Uncle Charles?" Sarah asked him, and he nodded in reply.
"You know Mummy loves you so much, and she's ready to do anything for you, right?" Sarah asked him, and he nodded in reply.
"Can you also do Mummy a favor?" Sarah asked him, and he nodded.
"Can you give Uncle Charles a chance for just a month? We are getting married next month, and if till the end of next month if you still don't like him, I will ask for a divorce," Sarah said to him with a sincere tone.
"Just a month, right?" Justin asked her in order to confirm what she said.
"Yes, just a month," Sarah said to him.
"Okay, I will try, but if after the end of the month I still don't like him and you don't divorce him, I will go and start staying with Daddy," Justin said to him.
"No problem, I agree. Now can you at least smile for me? I'm not comfortable with how you have been frowning since Saturday, and it's making you ugly," Sarah said to him, and immediately he smiled at her before turning his head away.
"That's good, my baby boy; now you look handsome," Sarah said to him before patting him on the head.
"I'm no longer a baby boy; I'm already a grownup," Justin said to Sarah with a frown.
"Yeah, I'm aware of that; don't worry, you will soon be leaving my house since you are already a grown-up," Sarah said while grinning ear to ear.
