Chapter 46: A Bad Day
"I'm leaving?" Claudia said to him with no emotion.
"What?" Xavier asked her in surprise.

"What do you mean by you are leaving? Is this some kind of joke?" Xavier asked her with a surprised tone.
"Joke?" Claudia asked him before bursting into a round of laughter.
"Do I like someone who is joking? Since you decided to sell your company even when I asked you not to, enjoy your miserable and single life. Just as I said earlier, I'm not ready to toil in poverty with you. The divorce papers are on the table; I have signed my own part; make sure you sign yours as soon as possible," Claudia said to him with no emotion.
"Claudia, I want to ask you a question, and I want you to be sincere with me," Xavier said to Claudia, and she nodded in reply.
"Did you ever love me, or were you after my money all this time?" Xavier asked her while peering into her eyeballs.
"I loved you and I have always loved you, but I'm allergic to poverty. I don't see any reason to stay with you if you can't take care of me and spend money on me like the husbands of my friends used to do to their wives," Claudia said to Xavier.
"Thanks for your honesty; I have gotten my answer. I will sign the divorce papers right away," Xavier said to Claudia, and she furrowed her brows in surprise.
"What answer are you talking about?"Claudia asked him with a furrowed brows.
"What do you care? Enjoy your single life. I hope you find another man richer than me who would accept you despite your barrenness," Xavier said to her before bringing out his phone from his pocket and placing a call across one of his men. After some minutes, the call was picked up.
"Hello Boss," the voice of one of his men sounded from the other end.
"Hi Benjamin, withdraw your protection from Claudia; from now on, she's on her own," Xavier said to him.
"Ok, boss," he said to Xavier in reply, and immediately he hung up the call.
"You are free to leave; I have only one favor to ask you: make sure you don't come back," Xavier said to her.
"Of course I won't," she said to Xavier confidently, and he nodded in reply.
"Justin, don't forget everything I said to you," she said to Justin, who was sitting on the couch before dragging her luggage and walking out.
As she was walking, Xavier couldn't help but smile to himself. Looking at her walking away, the only thought that came to his mind was when he had divorced Sarah because of her. Only if he hadn't been stupid back then, he would have realized that Claudia was after his money, not his love. He only realized it when Sarah left; unlike Claudia, Sarah was ready to sacrifice everything for him despite not knowing that he was rich.
Sarah only realized that he was rich almost a year after they got into a relationship, but right from the beginning of the relationship, she never complained about him not being rich; instead, she supported him how he was, and now that the only obstacle that was preventing him from going after Sarah is gone, it's time for him to go after her and claim her back. It's true that winning her back isn't going to be easy, but as long as she is concerned, he is ready to give up anything to get her back.
Sighing heavily, he walked to the couch and sat down before patting Justin on the head. With that, he took the divorce papers, brought out a pen from his briefcase, and signed it before dropping it on the table.
"Hey champion, sorry that you had to witness that; now it's only the both of us," Xavier said to Justin, but he remained silent while staring at him.
"Hey, why aren't you saying anything?" Xavier asked him, but still he remained silent. At the same time, Xavier remembered Claudia's last words before she left.
"What was she asking you not to forget before leaving?" Xavier asked Justin, but still he remained silent.
"Justin, I'm talking to you; answer me. Xavier barked angrily, causing the little boy to flinch in fear.
"She told me that Mrs. Sarah Jones, the woman we usually see on television, is my mother, and that you chased her away after she gave birth to me because you needed me in order to inherit grandpa's properties," Justin said to Xavier, and immediately he cursed Claudia inwardly.
"Is it true?" Justin asked him.
"You see Justin."
"Daddy, is it true?" Justin repeated the question, and immediately Xavier sighed heavily.
When Xavier didn't reply after some minutes, it was already clear to Justin that what Claudia said to him was true. Without uttering a word, he stood up and started walking, heading upstairs.
"Justin," Xavier called him, and immediately he stopped, turned, and looked around, hot tears already streaming down his cheeks.
"Dad, you are a liar. You told me to always say the truth, but you lied to me. I hate you," he said to Xavier before running to his room.
"Justin!! Justin!!" Xavier kept on calling him as he was running to his room.
"Damnit," Xavier muttered angrily before ruffling his hair in frustration.
"Damn you, Claudia, damn you," Xavier muttered angrily before crashing everything that was on the table. Immediately, the maids ran out, and once they saw how he crashed everything on the center table, they fidgeted in fear.
"Clean this up," he commanded the maids before standing up and heading upstairs. As he was climbing the stairs, a notification popped into his phone. Without hesitating, he brought out his phone to check what it was. Once he unlocked his phone, he saw that it was a message from Sarah Jones, who was expressing her interest in buying his company.
"I thought nothing good was going to happen today," he muttered to himself while climbing the stairs.
