Chapter 43: You Are Still Mine

"Good evening, Mr. Renold. How are you?" Sarah asked him before standing up and stretching out his hand for a handshake, to which he  reciprocated immediately. "Please have a seat,"Sarah said to him after the handshake, and with that, Mr. Renold sat down on the chair opposite Sarah. "You should have informed me before arriving; I would have made some reservations before your arrival," Sarah said to him with a warm smile. "Yeah, I really apologize for that. I was thinking about informing you, but after seeing a client in the area, I decided to see you immediately before taking my leave," Mr. Renold said to Sarah, and she nodded in reply. "Well, to what do I owe the visit?" Sarah asked him. "Actually, I wanted to inform you that I would love to become a shareholder in your company," he said to Sarah, and immediately she furrowed her brows at him. "Really?" Sarah asked him, and he nodded positively. "If I'm not mistaken, you recently withdrew all your shares from Quim Corporation; can I know the reason why?" Sarah asked him. "Well, as we all know, the Quim Corporation we knew before is not the same as that of today. When Quim Corporation was under the coordination of Mr. Quim, everything was going smoothly until he passed away, and his son took over. Since then, it has gone from one problem to another, and believe me, in the next two years, no one will know that Quim Corporation ever existed. If I had left my shares in the company, it's because I thought Mr. Xavier would be like his father, but I noticed that he was nothing like his father. I quickly withdrew my shares from the company before the company will sink down with it. I'm sure that you would have done the same thing if you were at my place," Mr. Renold said to Sarah. "Absolutely, I would have done the same thing if I were at your place," Sarah said to him in reply. "But why do you think that ethical textiles is the best place to invest?" Sarah asked him. "When someone sees a good fruit, you can already tell; you don't even need to start eating it before knowing that the fruit is good. You became the CEO of Ethic Textiles, which is in England, five years ago, and in less than three years, you positioned the company among the top companies in Europe. Since you became the CEO, there has never been a bad report about you, and yesterday, when the first bad report about you came up, you took care of it in less than twenty-four hours. You might not know that many people had their eyes on you, waiting to see how we resolved an issue like this one, and to everyone's greatest surprise, you resolved in less than twenty-four hours an issue that could have ruined the image of your company both in New York City and England," Mr. Renold said to Sarah. "Well, thanks for the recognition, but the truth is that I didn't solve the issue alone; it was with the help of Mr. Charles that I solved it," Sarah said to him, and he nodded in reply. "Well, for now, I can't give you a reply as to whether I'm going to accept your offer or not. I will have to discuss it with other members of the company; probably I will get back to you in less than a week," Sarah said to him before bringing out a document and handing it to him. After going through it, he filled it and gave it back to her. "Thank you so much for your offer, Mr. Renold. I will review it with other board members of the company before getting back to you," Sarah said to him. "No problem, Mrs. Sarah; I will be expecting your feedback," Mr. Renold said to her before standing up, and with that, Sarah too stood up and shook his hand once again before he took his leave. Once he left, Sarah sighed heavily before taking a glance at the wall clock and realizing that it was almost six p.m. With that, she quickly arranged the documents on her table before taking her bag and walking to the garage. Once she arrived at the garage, she unlocked the car with the key, but as she was about to walk in, she immediately saw a figure through the window of the car standing some distance away from her. With that, she gasped in fear before turning, only to see that it was Xavier. "What are you doing here?" She asked Xavier who was approaching her. "Come on, Sarah, what's that look? I mean no harm; I just want to talk," Xavier said to her before raising his hand in surrender. "What do you want to talk about?" Sarah asked him with an inquisitive look. "Why don't you give me a ride? After all, you are already leaving, and I won't want to waste your time," Xavier said to her, and immediately Sarah closed her eyes and heaved a sigh. "Get in," she said to him before entering inside the car, and with that, Xavier entered through the passenger side, and without hesitating, Sarah ignited the car and zoomed off. "Your car smells good," Xavier said to her after some minutes of silence. "What do you want to talk about?" Sarah repeated the question. "First, I wanted to congratulate you on your new relationship," Xavier said to Sarah, and immediately she turned and looked at him before smirking at him. "Thank you; hearing that from you means a lot to me. But from the sound of your voice, it's as if you aren't happy about it," Sarah said to him. "Well, you are right; I'm not happy about it, and the reason is because you entered into a relationship with the wrong person," Xavier said to her, and immediately she burst into a round of laughter. "I know what you are trying to do; you want to tell me lies about Charles so that I can break up with him, right? Sorry, but it's not going to work," Sarah said to him before pulling over. "If this is what you want to talk to me about, I will advise you to get out of my car," Sarah said to him. "Well, what I wanted to tell you is that you can be in a relationship with anyone except Charles; you don't know who he is," Xavier said to her. "You are right, I don't know who he is, but I know who you are, and I'm not going to allow you to manipulate me like you did five years ago, so I will advise you to get the hell out of my car before I do something that I will regret," Sarah said to him with a threatening tone, and immediately Xavier raised his hands in submission. "Chill, I'm already getting down, but before I leave, I want you to have this in the back of your mind. You can't be in a relationship unless I want you to. You are still mine, whether you love it or not. In the meantime, have fun, but when the right time comes, I will claim you back. Have a nice evening," Xavier said to her before blowing her a kiss and walking down from the car, leaving Sarah in shock. Once Xavier came down from the car, Ben pulled over, and immediately Xavier entered the car and they zoomed off. Meanwhile, on the other side of the road, someone who had been observing the whole thing from his car took his phone and placed a call on someone. After some minutes of ringing, the person picked up. "Hello boss, he just left," the person said through the phone. To be continued...
