Chapter 86: Her Personal Assistant
Smiling to himself, he picked up the call and placed the phone in his ear.
"Hello, wifey, how are you doing?" Xavier asked Sarah over the phone.

"I think you meant to say hello, boss. How are you doing?" Sarah said to Xavier through the phone.
"Yes, I also had that in mind, but being my boss doesn't prevent you from being my wife," Xavier said to her.
"Stop it, Xavier; I'm not and will never be your wife, so stop addressing me like that. I'm already engaged to another man, and he won't be happy to hear another man address me as wife, especially if the man is my ex-husband," Sarah said to him through the phone.
"Ooh, sorry about that, Mrs. Sarah. I hope you are okay with me calling me that." Xavier asked her.
"Yes, that's okay with me; you can also call me Mrs. Smith," Sarah said to Xavier, and immediately he scoffed inwardly.
"Sorry, but I can't call you that," Xavier said to her.
"Can I know why?" Sarah asked him, enjoying how his tone changed when she asked him to call her Mrs. Smith.
"Well, that's because I don't remember you getting married to anyone with the name Smith," Xavier said to her.
"But I'm your boss, and normally, when I ask you to do something, you are supposed to do it. So whenI ask you to address me as Mrs. Smith, you are supposed to do that without any hesitation," Sarah said to Xavier, and immediately he smiled at himself before shaking his head in disbelief.
"Well, you are right about being my boss, and normally I'm supposed to be following your orders without any hesitation, but the issue with me is that I can't follow your orders unless they have something to do with the company where I'm employed," Xavier said to her in reply.
"Well, I must admit that you are an exceptional employee; you deliberately choose which orders you will follow and which ones you won't follow. I hope you remembered that I informed you that I derive pleasure from firing my employees." Sarah asked Xavier.
"Yeah, I remember that, but what does that have to do with me?" Xavier asked her.
"Continue choosing the orders you want to follow and the ones you won't follow in my company, and your name will be on the list of the people I will fire in the first week," Sarah said to him with a strict voice.
"Ooh, I didn't see that coming," Xavier said to Sarah.
"Of course you didn't; you will only see it the day I will be kicking you out of Quim Corporation," Sarah said to him through the phone.
"From the way you are talking, it's already clear that you are impatiently waiting to fire me, but I hope you are aware that I was the CEO of a company once?" Xavier asked her.
"Yes, I'm aware of that, and I'm also aware that it was in the past, and presently you aren't a CEO anymore," Sarah said to him.
"Well, only what I needed was the first answer; what you said after that wasn't necessary. Actually, the reason why I was reminding you of that is to let you know that, as a former CEO, I know every single rule and regulation protecting an employee from the employer, and among those rules and regulations, it is stated that the employer can't fire the employee for no valid reason unless the employer wants to pay the employee the fine related to the non-compliance with regulations relating to worker rights," Xavier said to Sarah.
"Wow, I must admit that you were a good employer, but don't worry, I will surely find a valid reason to fire you," Sarah said to him.
"Is that a threat or a promise?" Xavier asked her.
"It's both," Sarah said to him in reply.
"Thank goodness I'm recording this call; at least I have proof that my employer never liked me right from the beginning and had promised to do everything to get me fired," Xavier said to Sarah.
"What!!" Sarah exclaimed in surprise.
"Just kidding, Xavier said to Sarah before bursting into a round of laughter.
"Can I promise you something too?" Xavier asked her.
"Yes, go on," Sarah said to him.
"When I finally open my company and decide to leave, you are going to beg me not to leave," Xavier said to her.
"What!! Sarah exclaimed in surprise, knowing that what he just said is the last thing she's ever going to do. According to her, a month was already enough for her to find a reason to kick him out of the company.
"And what are you going to do in the company that is going to make me beg you not to leave?" Sarah asked him with a furrowed eyebrow, as if he were sitting right in front of her.
"Just have a little patience; when the right time comes, you will understand. In the meantime, you can contend yourself by looking for means to get me fired in less than a week, but I can assure you that you will only be wasting your time.
"Well, I don't need to look for means to fire you; there are already many means available, and I can even fire you on your first day as my personal assistant, but I won't do that; I will give you at least a month so that you can witness how I will transform the condition and the image of the company, and afterwards I will kick you out," Sarah said to Xavier.
"Wow, that's just like God telling Moses to take a look at the promised land, but he will never set foot in it," Xavier said to Sarah.
"No, I will allow you to set foot in it for a month, and afterwards I will kick you out," Sarah said to him.
"Wow, I still didn't see this coming," Xavier said to her.
"Yeah, that's the case with me; you can never see my attacks coming. By the way, I'm inaugurating Quim Corporation tomorrow, and you have to be present as my personal assistant. The time is eight o'clock; make sure you are there on time. I hate unpunctuality," Sarah said to him with a strict tone.
"Is it necessary to present myself as your personal assistant during an inauguration ceremony?" Xavier asked her.
"Yes, it is; be absent or late, and you are fired," Sarah said to him before hanging up.
"Wow, I didn't see that coming," Xavier muttered in dismay.
